How old do you feel

There is definitely a physical/mental divide isn't there? Physically I feel some years older than my actual age, but mentally I don't feel much different to say 45/50 [that means as I felt when that age, not everyone.]
There's a George Harrison song with the lines 'Some days I'm pretty sharp and somedays I feel half dead' which pretty much sums it up! grin

I'm 70 in December. Mentally I feel about 40 but physically:-
About ready to drop off my perch.

Don't really know what a 64 year old feels like but I would say a lot of 80/90 year olds think and act a lot younger than me!

But ginny don't we revert to childhood in our 80s and start saying "I'm nearly ........" as if it is some great achievement? grin

I'm with Mollie How old does 60 feel ? or 70 or 80. I feel however I feel each day. Just enjoy life as much as you can and don't worry about the numbers.

I agree with you mollie how am I supposed to feel? I feel physically younger than my age and I probably often don't act my age. Some of my friends are a lot younger than me. If I am with a certain friend of the same age I think either she is old for her age or I am young.

When it comes to people asking me for advice I think I am the right age but when I heard something on the radio yesterday about older people driving I couldn't believe that some would think I was too old.

I don't think I ever feel older than I am.

My brain thinks I am still about 30; I look in the mirror and realise that I'm not. I am in good nick physically apart from a few minor irritating problems, so I suppose I now feel about 5 years younger than I am - 60 and holding grin

Trouble is, I don't know what being my age is supposed to feel like. Do any of us? Afterall, we've never been this old before, have we? Mentally, I think I've always been an old soul so there will be many here older than me with a younger outlook. Physically? It depends on the day...

I'm with ninathenanna. Physically I am not in great nick and have problems associated with more years than I have accumulated. But I am full of ideas and beans of one sort or another and find it hard to believe that I am older. But, what the heck, we have to take what we get!

Why are people obsessed with feeling younger than they are? I am the age I am and this is how it feels. In ten years time, if I live that long, I will be ten years older. Get over it.

I also feel the age I am. It isn't just about physical age. Mentally I have lived the number of years I've lived and gained in knowledge, in experience, and hopefully (cough) in wisdom appropriate to my years.

Physically I feel I'm older than I actually am.
Mentally I feel 30ish. But when I get together with my friend 'J' I some times regress to my teens grin

Perhaps I should get that post deleted. Not exactly jolly is it.

jinglbellsfrocks Sat 08-Mar-14 09:31:16

I feel exactly the age I am. And that's after feeling young for my age for years. I am convinced that real ageing kicks in after seventy.

Sorry.

I replied to this on the "dorset site" , doesn't seem to have come up here on the main site .
So, I will re-post , I was reading in my paper that most "Seniors" feel 10 years younger than their actual age .
I think that is true in my case , if not MORE
