A new daft game

(1001 Posts)

As there seem to be a lot of serious threads at the moment, I am launching a new game. There is only one rule, very simple, but I am not going to tell you what it is. You will have to work it out for yourselves by reading all the posts very carefully.

When you think you have it, join in. All posts, from those who get it or from those who haven't a clue, influence the course of the game.

You're joking

Ana Thu 27-Feb-14 19:50:26

Zero tolerance next round! I think we need to be told the Rule(s) again...

Icyalittle Thu 27-Feb-14 19:55:24

Actually, I think the OP didn't want to spell out the Rule....

jinglbellsfrocks Thu 27-Feb-14 20:07:10

V got missed out. hmm

Ana Thu 27-Feb-14 20:14:16

So did others along the way - I thought we had to go back to the beginning if someone messed it up made a mistake.

Ana Thu 27-Feb-14 20:16:46

Checking back though, Elegran didn't say that was a rule, so I don't suppose it matters, which seems daft to me! hmm

jinglbellsfrocks Thu 27-Feb-14 20:17:33

Nobody knows the rules. sad

jinglbellsfrocks Thu 27-Feb-14 20:18:56

I don't know the rules. That's for sure. sad

Ana Thu 27-Feb-14 20:19:20

Oh dear...

Ana Thu 27-Feb-14 20:19:47

We're doomed! shock

newist Thu 27-Feb-14 20:22:45

At precisely 1 am, I shall start again

newist Thu 27-Feb-14 20:23:46

Before I doIi shall have 2 jam doughnuts

Ana Thu 27-Feb-14 20:26:29

It takes you two and a half hours to eat 2 doughnuts? grin

jinglbellsfrocks Thu 27-Feb-14 20:28:27

1 am?!!!! You're on yer own there newist!

Don't you go to bed at all? shock

newist Thu 27-Feb-14 20:30:05

No, 2 hours and 29 minutes drooling time, 1 minute to eat them

Elegran Thu 27-Feb-14 20:31:15

Beautiful round. Are we off again?

If someone messes it up makes a mistake, you start from that mistake not from whatever was before the cockup mistake.

That is why I said (obliquely because I was trying at first not to let on what the number one rule is - but its too late now to be subtle) that each post has an influence, even if it is an unintentional one That keeps it changing and stops people planning several moves ahead. You have to be quick and flexible.

But no-one seems to be following that rule so I don't care, so there..

newist Thu 27-Feb-14 20:31:27

I made a sad attempt to start a game blush

Elegran Thu 27-Feb-14 20:32:58

Just like this lot to think your sad brave attempt was just a common or garden comment.

newist Thu 27-Feb-14 20:39:35

Its too late now anyway, George Gently is on the telly

Icyalittle Thu 27-Feb-14 20:46:48

Knitting it all together is getting harder, particularly for us common (or garden) types.

Ana Thu 27-Feb-14 20:47:10

What do you mean 'we start from that mistake'? Start afresh, or just carry on from the 'mistake'? confused

Ana Thu 27-Feb-14 20:48:15

Do we go to A&E now? grin

Ana Thu 27-Feb-14 20:51:54

Oh, it's OK I think I've got it now! Doesn't help that I've got bookmarks all over this thread and can't get rid of them...hmm

Carry on folks, must go - nits to pick etc.

Elegran Thu 27-Feb-14 21:06:06

(Ana You carry on from the mistake, not from the legit move that was before the mistake. Another useful dodge - not rule - is to put brackets round a comment to show that it is not a game move. Then it is an aside and "invisible" and people can get away with not continuing from it.

Nits to pick? When you can pick the nits out of how to play a completely useless game? Are there any more important nits on the forum?)

Elegran Thu 27-Feb-14 21:07:28

Playing on from Ana's post.
