Can't sleep - won't sleep - anyone else awake?

MawBroon Thu 05-Oct-17 04:34:47

Just seen tanith’s post too,
Worrying about cancelled surgery is awful, for you both. I do hope the sickness is either an isolated something your DH ate or perhaps psychosomatic- and good luck for Friday.

MawBroon Thu 05-Oct-17 04:32:17

It’s a wild night out there here too.
Nice to have such good company but I hope you have both made it back to the Land of Nod by now.??
I hate to admit it, but I might be getting used to this as I no longer try to fight it!
As long as I can get a couple of hours now I will cope. I have just let Hattie out to be on the safe side but am worried she will make a habit of this, as she is perfectly capable of going through the night. However having heard us moving about I knew she was stirring too ??
Good luck with that cough. I found Bronchostop pastilles good and Covonia syrup which is so foul it MUST be good for you!

Oh that's enough to worry you Tanith. Hope it's something that will pass quickly. Doesn't the pillow get hot and uncomfortable! Hope you get some sleep before morning.

tanith Thu 05-Oct-17 04:26:22

I'm here again tossing and turning. OH is downstairs feeling sick i really hope he's not coming down with something as he he avsurgery scheduled for Friday . I'm going to try and read.

Bellanonna Thu 05-Oct-17 04:03:58

I've been kept awake alternately by my coughing and the purring in my upper chest. I didn't expect this for another few weeks. Wish I could concentrate enough to read but i can't. Ive been lying awake worrying that DH will get it but I've kept away from him most of the time. Fingers tightly crossed. Yes ann it feels muggy and sounds windy outside. I'm gong to look for something old to watch and then I'll try again. Hope you're asleep now.

annsixty Thu 05-Oct-17 03:06:44

One half decent night and here I am again.
I have been awake now almost an hour, it seems very warm and it is very wet and windy outside.

Imperfect27 Wed 04-Oct-17 11:58:47

annsixty I think I will be keeping you company with a daytime snooze today smile x

annsixty Wed 04-Oct-17 08:27:23

Sympathy to you both.
I had a much better night with just one hour of tossing and turning between 2.30 and 3.30 then didn't wake until 7.30.
At least I have the luxury of dozing during the day.
My age obviously makes me need less sleep, but combined worries about ALL my family presently are not helping.

Imperfect27 Wed 04-Oct-17 08:07:05

((((((((hugs))))))) sad

Virtue makes R&R count double methinks!

MissAdventure Wed 04-Oct-17 07:58:22

I'm not really a worrier, but I suppose we do have our limits, Imperfect27
I'm at work today, and sleeping in tonight, so no chance for that rest!
I keep thinking how much i'll enjoy it when I do get it though!

Imperfect27 Wed 04-Oct-17 07:53:17

MissA you definitely need those cyber flowers then! flowers.

Worry takes its toll - I am not a ';natural worrier', but there has been plenty to tax me lately.

I tried making a list last night, but that didn't help. But at least I have the luxury of going at my own pace today. Would be awful if I need to work and I am hoping for a snooze later!

I hope you can rest up at some points during the day today xx

MissAdventure Wed 04-Oct-17 07:36:55

Horrible night for me. I woke around every 1.5 hours, and in between had complicated, stressful dreams. I haven't been in my own bed for almost 2 weeks, which doesn't help.

Imperfect27 Wed 04-Oct-17 06:38:05

Ugh! Awful night! Sporadic sleep ever since 11:00. Eventually drifted off sitting on the sofa so DH woke me soon after 6. Resisted the tug of GN just in case it didn't help to have the screen on, but little difference!

At least I can have a quietish day today. Small mercies! smile

Slept from 11.30 until 4. Gave up trying to get back to sleep at 6.30. ?

Bellanonna Tue 03-Oct-17 05:43:26

I did well, slept from 12 till 4.30 then just lay awake coughing. Have now decided to wake up properly. Don't know what I did before the iPad. I sound like a cat purring and it's really annoying. It will pass. It always does. Eventually. Now for some back editions of HIGNFY or WILTY. Happy Tuesday.!

cornergran Tue 03-Oct-17 04:24:45

That's not good ann. Hope you've nodded off now. I'm getting bored with gardening programmes. hmm. Need to drive a fair bit today so getting worried about concentration. Guess adrenaline will see me through.

annsixty Tue 03-Oct-17 03:55:20

3:06 for me. I hoped a bathroom visit would make me comfortable enough to go back to sleep.
No such luck.
Yesterday morning I dozed after sometime after 6am and slept until 8 but no rest during the day.

cornergran Tue 03-Oct-17 03:29:35

Morning mawb - frustrating, isn't it?

MawBroon Tue 03-Oct-17 03:13:44

sad ? if only!

cornergran Tue 03-Oct-17 03:10:18

Here I am again. Oh dear, busy day ahead. Looks like it's more gardening programmes for me, thank goodness for the iPad. Hope everyone else is sound asleep.

Bellanonna Mon 02-Oct-17 10:18:33

I watched all 3 episodes of Liar on the iPad. Episode 4 on tonight. Im keeping out of DH's way as he is very vulnerable, so hope he doesn't get my bugs.

tanith Mon 02-Oct-17 09:36:04

I went back up at 5ish but OH was just stirring we ended up chatting about his up coming Cystoscopy on Friday and whether to take the car and pay to park or get a cab? It will actually be cheaper to park at the hospital so car it is.
I eventually dropped off so got another hour+.

cornergran Mon 02-Oct-17 09:03:48

Back to sleep about 4 after watching a couple of TV gardening programmes courtesy of iPlayer and headphones. Awake again at 7. Must get up now. Rest if you can other sleepless folk.

silverlining48 Mon 02-Oct-17 08:52:19

My sleep has been very disturbed for months and have taken to prescribed sleeping pills which i split in two in order to conserve and hopefully not get addicted!!

MawBroon Mon 02-Oct-17 06:52:16
