I'm awake fretting over my sister too. What a cruel disease it is.

I am still sitting here. Been for blood test today and saw my chemo nurse, ward was empty, nurse said all the regulars were too poorly to attend. Not a good thought to go to bed with plus my sister rang and told me the doctors have found something in her uterus and she is being fast tracked for diagnosis.

I love Rubygirl, , makes me feel young again, thanks.

I managed to get some sleep as tablets have stopped the bleeding. I managed to get about 4 hours overnight and 4 hours earlier too. So, feeling drained due to anemia but a bit better.

I know, NanKate, it's hard trying to get the balance between taking the right medication and getting some rest. And yes, it is a pain being a woman at times. Take care. X

First of all how are you Rubygirl did you managed to sleep ok ? I do hope so. No doubt you have sorted yourself with old towels in case of an accident . I used to wear two sanitary towels in bed. Don't we women have to put up with a lot?

I had a rubbish night as I decided not to take my usual pain killer as I am trying to cut down.

Thanks jogginggirl how are things with you? I know, apart from the care home with my dad, every one else was lovely with us. You made me wonder for a second though if I had been seen by a doctor or someone impersonating one, lol.

I'm really tired, my head hurts. Tried to sleep on the settee but not getting anywhere. Not slept upstairs last night in case I made a mess. I am going to try though in a bit, I have to sleep. Took some Kalms so I hope they work. X

ruby sorry to hear you feel pants - hope the brew helps and that you get some sleep tonight and begin to feel better.
Yes, chelsea is right - I was being ironic/sarcastic about doctors and nurses not working weekends!! I have met some amazing and dedicated NHS workers over the last few days!!

Thanks ladies, no, not much better but had some support from others who I am not related to, thank goodness for them. And I feel shattered because I haven't slept much. But I am back home with my doggie and the tele so all's ok. Take it one brew at a time. Sleep helps make things better but when we don't sleep we know about it. I hope you all get some tonight. I do feel for you Ruby - I went through similar flooding and clots during the peri-menopause and I found it very difficult especially at work. I hope you are beginning to feel a bit better now.

A good night's sleep is wonderful Jogginggirl only natural you will be thinking about your mum at present.

I thought I was going to have a good night, all tired and sleepy and it didn't happen. I kept having to switch on the radio quietly to keep my mind from thinking I couldn't get to sleep. I must organise a relaxing cd that I can listen to. I know I have two or three excellent ones but where they are is a mystery.

Glugging tea, may finish off my book.

I think jog was being ironic (sarcastic?) because despite what we are told there ARE doc's and nurses working.
My OH has just brought me a cip of tea, he's off to work.

jog what did you mean by no doctors or nurses over the weekend? There was staff at mine just now.

I've been in A and E for a few hours. Bleeding and large clots. Sent home on tablets to stem it a bit. Knackered now but not going to bed to sleep, I'll catch 40 winks on the settee. Anyone still awake?

After the best nights/night's (???) sleep in years last night - I now find myself wide awake thinking about my mum . Time for a I think xx

Seems as if your mother is getting the right treatment, take care of yourself jogginggirl.
I am going to hang around for a little while because I had a snooze this afternoon and I might not go straight off if I go to bed.

That is such good news jogginggirl knowing what you are dealing with is half the battle. I do hope you are getting some rest.

Hi ladies, just popping in with an update - mum is still in hospital - it seems she may have a pulmonary embolism - they have started treatment but will hopefully scan tomorrow to determine accuracy of diagnosis....
She was much happier when I saw her earlier and a move to the respiratory ward is imminent...

I have to say what amazing people I have dealt with over the last three days, very caring so hard-working and extremely skilful. By the way - did you know there are no doctors/nurses etc..... working at weekends - A huge thank you to each and every one of them from me and my mum

Keep going Harrigran I hear that chemo can knock you for six, but you sound as if you are coping.

I had a good night last night, went to bed at midnight and slept until 6.30, did have to have three toilet trips but went straight back to sleep. GC and their parents were here all day and that leaves me very tired.
The reduction in the chemo means my feet are not so sore this time which also helps me to get to sleep, at the end of this cycle I will be half way through the chemo
