I'm sooooo fed up and in need of lots of hugs. On retrieving my car from a car park today I notice that someone has driven into it AND driven off!
It must have made a noise as there is a lot of scratching (down to the metal) and a dent. The damage was done by a driver in a white or silver/grey car, possibly someone at the concert or at a nearby church.
I am thinking of changing my car and cannot afford the several hundred £s it will cost to put right.
I hope someone's conscience pricks them in the wee small hours! 
and 
I don't know whether to inform my insurance or pay for the damage myself..... any advice?
Gally and Galen I feel mean what is a bit of damaged metal compared with the loss of a loved one.........
Good afternoon to my lovely Granspals. I'm running late today. The final of the Australian Open tennis match is to blame. 
Rafa played valiantly, in spite of sustaining an injury to his back. He was beaten by Stanilas Wawrinka who was indeed a worthy winner. The two men have my respect. Listening to Rafa's speech brought tears to my eyes. He's such a fine competitor. Pete Sampras, a player that I loved to watch way back in time, was at the prize giving ceremony.
However, I am here and ready to catch up with the comings and goings in the kitchen.
Charleygirl You're right, cats, unlike dogs, take advantage. Rory will only ever use me as a stepping stone from a to b [MacSporran's lap]. In order for me to keep his attention for any length of time, I need to be picking the chicken on his behalf. 
Lona thank you for helping me to understand the blueing of links. I usually go to share when I want to add something to Facebook. However, there isn't the same facility available should I wish to share with Gransnet. I do not have a tablet.
Gagagran Although I couldn't be with you last night it seems that you did us proud. 'The Skye Boat Song' was taught to me at infant school [in Northamptonshire]. The teacher had a great fondness for anything Scottish. His son married a Scots lassie and we benefitted from that. We also sang - 'Westering Home' and the one about the Bonnie Banks of Loch Lomond. I'm sure there must have been others. Little did I know that, 67 years on, I would be sitting in view of Islay, mentioned in 'Westering Home'. In fact, two of our best friends in the village were born there. 
Granny23 I've really enjoyed watching the selection of songs that you have brought to my attention. I was able to share two [I think] with my Facebook friends. the film on the beach is lovely, as is the singer.
AlieOxon I hope that I haven't disturbed you. You seemed to be in a deep sleep as I passed you by. The chaise makes a good stop-over bed. I did eat some of the haggis that you brought along with you. Very savoury...especially with a wee dram.

Very nice, this extended extension. I have just popped in for a bit of peace and a catch-up. It's Australia Day today and it's all happening - swimming, surfing, dancing, singing, BBQ'ing, drinking...... I watched a New Citizenship Ceremony from Canberra on the TV this morning and found it very moving - in fact I had a lump in my throat. The participants were so excited and proud. It would be lovely to have to do something similar in the UK where every new citizen felt so very happy to be accepted into the wider community. Afterwards everyone stood and reaffirmed their allegiance to Australia.
DD at home had a Burns Supper last night - we skyped and saw the address to the haggis and of course one of the company (Italian) had to be wearing a Wee Jimmy wig!
Only another 10 days here and then I will be homeward bound. Not happy about that. And, tomorrow we will be remembering J. Going down to Delwood beach where we scattered his ashes last year.

How did you get it on there? Was it a share?
You need to click on the link you want to move (or you can press F6),it will blue the link, OR move your cursor across the link and that will blue it.
Then right click, which should bring up a list of actions.
Click on 'Copy'
Go to where you want to put the link, and then right click again and another list should appear with 'Paste', click on that and the link should appear.
It depends also,I think, on what you are using eg. pc or tablet etc.
I hope that works for you, if not, you'll have to appeal to someone more tech savvy than me!

I watched the ladies tennis final in Melbourne this morning. Chrissy Evert was at the prize giving. She was a great favourite of mine some forty years ago. Goodness me, she still looks in tip top shape. The Chinese lady who won is delightful. Her speech was very humorous.
Tomorrow morning at 8.15 precisely, I shall be in my tartan chair with a pot of tea and a bowl of porridge topped with sliced banana. Rafa will be playing in the final. I cannot remember the name of his opponent. He's the new kid on the block and must be thrilled to have made it this far. The match between Roger and Andy, [who underwent back surgery not so long ago] was superb. I admire tennis players. I like their sense of "fair play"...
Tortoiseshell kitten has put in an appearance. I have given her a good supper.
I hope that those who use the kitchen for the Burns night gathering have a wonderful evening. There are many treats to be enjoyed. Also, for the toast, there will be Champagne cocktails and a bottle of the finest malt. MacSporran has been rearranging the furniture. Tartan cushions plumped up. Tartan blankets for those who wish to stay the night. I polished the piano in readiness for Gagagran - our resident music maker. Granny23 will be happy to lead the sing song. Make as much noise as you like. Rory is already waiting for his Saturday evening chicken [only 2 hours to go.] After which, he will be looking for the comfiest lap to loll on.
Have fun. 
The broomstick brigade will be most welcome even if they only call in on the way home - I'm sure there will be refreshments available from the virtual drinks cabinet and food. I'll stay in the kitchen with my piano though and keep the background ambiance nice and gentle I think - if it's a late session that is! Don't think raucous is suitable for soop and MacSporran - nor Rory
Alie and Nellie, thank you so much for the links. I love Joan Baez. I was playing them quietly and DH turned the sound on the athletics (TV) down so that he could listen as well.
I've tried to google The Ballad of Glencoe but can only find The Corries or John McDermott singing it. Both lovely (and beautiful scenery) but If anyone knows of a woman singing it, I'd be grateful for a link.
My Scottish friend sings for charity concerts, with her accent getting more and more pronounced, and I didn't think of asking for a Scottish selection last time I saw her. She sings Coulters Candy as well.
