kittylester that is awful news, I am so sorry.
granny23 my cat Tara is like the black cat being mauled by your Cassidy. There are 2 ginger bully boys, one who is also 3 legged who live a few doors away and Tara wakens the neighbours with her caterwhauling because they are bullies and injure her. I go to bed fairly late so I rescue her and then we go upstairs together. She is recovering from a bite just above an eyelid from one of them.
I ended up buying a cat flap which is worked with Tara's microchip to stop these bully boys coming inside and nearly killing my little girl.
I do not think the neighbours realise that it is Tara as butter would not melt in her mouth, making the noise and I have not confessed.
Snow on the peaks sounds lovely soop. It's blinking perishing here but I doubt we'll get snow.
I think I'm going to retreat into the kitchen for ever as the world outside is not nice at the moment. My nephew, aged a mere 47, has been diagnosed with colon and liver cancer. He has found life a struggle as he has Aspergers and my lovely SiL worries about him so.
Sorry if I've brought everyone down but I needed some TLC and the kitchen is just the place to get some.
I've done my fair share of housework. Feet-up time. A nice pot of tea and one of bags virtual flapjacks should help me to recover.
Tortoiseshell cat came for her supper mid-afternoon. She's so sweet. Rory hasn't been doing anything strenuous today. He's asleep on his rug and hasn't moved an inch since late morning.
Ironing job tomorrow morning. I shall call in afterwards to catch up with my Granspals news. Until then, take very good care of yourselves.

Granny23 I have a lovely picture in my mind's eye of Mr G wearing his tartan pyjamas calling for the naughty Cassidy to stop his nonsense and come back indoors. Bless!
Granny23 Come here and cool down on the chaise. I shall make a
. Yikes! What a nightmare-ish situation to find yourselves in at such a late/early hour. The fact that the biffing went on in the middle of the road would have sent MacSporran into a spin. He [MacS] goes everywhere with Rory. Rory is not allowed out at night. He usually sits on the door mat for a few minutes looking into the forest. Once he hears MacS say come on to bed...he [Rory] does just that. Like you, I'm concerned for the wee black cat. Does it appear to be well fed? Animals can be such a worry, can't they?
Good morning Oldgreymare and Kitty. There is snow on the Island peaks. It was raining earlier, but at the moment the sky is clearing. The sea is a beautiful shade of green/grey.
I'm watching the Scottish crows collect their morning ration of wholemeal bread - placed on what we call the 'Crow Stone' at the entrance to the drive. They take the bread to the beach and they hide it away in between crevices in the rocks. Clever stuff!
Agus many thanks for the photo of bonnie Bobby.
What have we let ourselves in for? 1.00am this morning, when I was just thinking about going to bed, the most tremendous caterwauling outside, woke DH from a sound sleep and judging by the lights that went on, half the street as well. 'Our' Cassidy, had chased the little black cat out of our garden into the middle of the main (trunk) road and was pulverising it right on the white line. Thankfully, no cars came along and after lying still for a bit, wee black cat limped into the driveway opposite, where Cassidy laid into it again. By this time we were at the front door in our pyjamas calling on Cassy to come home but were totally ignored while he continued to stand over the wee cat with both of them wailing at the top of their voices - Nightmare. Eventually, after a few cars had passed, Cassidy did come over but would not come into the house, too busy sniffing around the doorstep and the path. DH asserted his authority, which is quite hard to do in tartan PJs and bare feet, and in swaggered one triumphant cat, not in the least ashamed of himself.
Wee black cat was still lying in the driveway at this point but when I looked out again she had gone. Our sympathies have lain with Cassidy, as he is a disabled cat, but it appears that he is a big bully. As a life long pacifist and feminist, I don't quite know what to make of this - am definitely 'not speaking' to the three legged terrorist this morning.
I'll just sit here quietly for a bit, not smoking, it is steam coming out of my ears.
Good morning all. Haven't had time to pop in here for a while but I am so glad to hear McSporran's good news.
I'm in need of a bit of 'me' time so can I just hide over there, with all the cushions, and a nice
and some toast and butter.
Sorry you are in a tizz OGM - would you like your coffee now or later?
In need of a cold flannel for the fevered brow! Still in a tizz!
Saw and heard Quartetto di Cremona yesterday. Amazing! The music was sublime, watching 4 young Italians play..... phew!
P.S. Love Mahler too especially what I call the 'Death in Venice' piece!
Wake me up with a strong coffee, please.
Cheers soop and all!
...and I would so enjoy going into one of those mind-boggling spins...
It will soon be the six o'clock Sunday evening treat of G&T with a slice of lime. MacSporran was treated to a bottle of Ardbeg malt whisky. We shall raise a glass of cheer to our Granspals. Rory shall have a diced chicken treat. He sends purrs.
Until tomorrow...thanks for your company. Enjoy what remains of the weekend.

Pity the poor partner who had to lift me!
Galen titter ye not.
ffinnochio Variations on a theme can be most interesting. How many can you spare?
anno Mahler's fifth tugs at the heartstrings. There is one passage that without fail brings tears to my eyes.
Have enjoyed watching the ice skating. The fifteen year old Russian lassie was a joy to behold. Ice dancing is next on the agenda. WISH that I could be one of those skaters for just four minutes. It must be an amazing feeling to whiz across the ice, be lifted high above the partner's head and land safely...
This!
His falling flat on your face thing, obviously started at a young age.
I remember going to that ice rink on a few occasions as well.

Well, if anyone's interested, my 'variations on a theme of date slices' worked out really well.
soop, my rendering of Loch Lomond was indeed remarkable. I am sure I couldn't reproduce it now - my voice is now even worse. When I was a Brownie we were always singing Westering Home: I think it was the only song our Brown Owl knew! Mahler's 1st is glorious. A liking for Mahler is one of the few decent legacies of my marriage! As Maureen Lipman's character says in Educating Rita: 'Wouldn't you just die without Mahler^.
