Tortoiseshell kitten was outside and waiting for breakfast long before I awoke today. MacSporran saw her and went outside wearing his fleece top over jimjams. He returned to bed with a cup of tea, and at that point, Rory joined us. I have taken a photo of them and will add it to the album this afternoon.

He was a Lhasa Apso soop, big for that breed and I used to cut his coat myself every six weeks as we preferred a scruffier look as opposed to the grooming parlour ticket boo Hope the photo was clear enough it was the only one out of so many where his face was close enough and it's my favourite.

I do so like to look at your photos - memories of my once-feral pusscat Cleo(aka as Clotto by DH) who became as tame and soppy as Rory with all the love and attention she got! She lived to the grand old age of 19 and was a mirror image of Rory, which is why the memories come flooding back. She used to love me to throw balls of paper up in the air for her to leap up and catch and she would even bring them back for me to throw again. Who said cats can't be trained?

soop, Rory has found heaven in bed with Mac Sporran. He, actually both are so relaxed.

Here you are Nellie. Apricot and almond flapjacks, It's the second lot I made as the first ones went too quickly to bring any in to soop's. They were a bit crumbly and I discovered that DH was eating "a little bit that broke off" every time he passed the tin.
I've just made some date slices as well, maybe they won't be so addictive.

Yes, I've heard it all before! She started it, no, she started it, honest Mum/Granny you're still a pair of dirty besoms.

Aka. We always had Labs. before we inherited Bobby from DD1 who bought him from a breeder in Perth. He was a fabulous character and completely changed our minds about small breeds. Very loving and completely irresistible to everyone. We almost had another one when Bobby did the deed with our neighbour's Lhasa bitch in France but we travelled a lot and one dog was enough. Sadly he died last June and I am still looking for him around the house

soop yes! spot on about his eyes. Big soulful round almost black, DH sometimes call him Mr Prozac!

Agus I believe that a lady in the village has a Lhasa Apso. I shall take a good look at her eyes [the dogs, not the lady's] as they are a very important feature and need to be portrayed correctly. I rang the art shop in Lochgilphead this morning and placed an order for some watercolour paints. MacSporran needs a haircut. He uses the hairdresser next door to the shop. When paint is ready for collection, we'll both make an appointment for a trim. There is also a very nice coffee shop in Lochgilphead. The last time I called in, was when I met bags for a blether.

Nellie and kitty My two eldest sons live in Leicestershire. It's a very decent county. There will always be someone who believes that 'more should have been done...' Best sit here quietly and I shall hunt around for a flapjack. They seem to disappear into thin air. Oven warming up as I speak. Lovely aroma wafting around the kitchen

dustyangel I like the sound of Mr dusty. I do just that - try to convince myself that a wee nibble here and there isn't as fattening as gobbling some goody down in one go.

We were enjoying our usual early morning in bed this morning and Tortoiseshell cat [who had been fed by MacSporran] was grooming herself seated on top of the log store. Deep in the forest we spied lady pheasant making her way down to help clear up some of the bird seed. She spotted Tortoiseshell and stood very still before turning around and running off through the undergrowth. In a flash, Tortoiseshell was almost upon her. The cat sprang up and the bird took flight. It was a very close thing.

She is her father's daughter, Soop. Will take on anything, any size.

Today's date slices contain some banana as well. Enjoy.

Many years ago when I was married, my ex was in the USA on business, I had 2 weeks holiday and agreed to look after 2 dogs belonging to friends while they went on holiday. One was an old English sheepdog and the other a Collie.They had such a great time with me that when my friends returned, the old English sheepdog hid, not wanting to return home! It was so embarrassing.

soop I knew one of your sons lived in Leicestershire (actually thought it was Rutland ) because I've heard you when you all get together!

Thanks for the banana flapjacks bags.( Delicious emoticon). DH has been nagging at me to try making them but he will have to wait until my Temari making is finished. I was in Glasgow yesterday too but in John Lewis looking for Anchor threads perle No.5. Their haberdashery dept. is now half the original size and no sign of the threads I wanted. Ordered them from sew&so this morning. Well done with the driving.

Glad to read that the concept of 'adapt and survive' adage by adding bananas to date slices if alive and well. Always up for different ideas on a theme.
