Just locking up.....Open as usual tomorrow...grin

Pete Sun 09-Mar-14 22:35:21

I've been delicate for the last twenty years...4 cubes you say Pogs

careful of the snooker table lona with those heels !

Ana Sun 09-Mar-14 22:33:21

You been on the barley wine again, POGS? hmm
I'll have you know my underwear bears no resemblance to a tea towel! More like a face-cloth, if you must know...

POGS Sun 09-Mar-14 22:23:00

Annna, who are you kidding, we all know your thong is tea towel on a yard of string.

Red satin indeed. Lona don't give Pete fancy thoughts, he is at a delicate age you know.

POGS Sun 09-Mar-14 22:17:26

Tape it to what Pete.?

I'll have a Bicardi , with the 4 ice cubes as normal please. I am in need.

The nearest I got to pole dancing was doing that stupid thing where you put your head on a pole and keep going round and round in a circle. Yep, fell into the obligatory table and bounced off into a bush. Spread eagled, not very lady like. blush

Ana Sun 09-Mar-14 22:14:12

Sorry, Lona, I think it disintegrated in the wash...(and my slinky white bathrobe came out pink as well! hmm)

Lona Sun 09-Mar-14 22:09:39

I'll just root out my fishnets and 6" stilettos then.
Ana can I have my red satin thong back please, you must've got the hang of it by now! hmm

Pete Sun 09-Mar-14 21:55:31

Pole dancing then! If Lisa turns up ...I'll tape the football ... another pint anyone?

Ana Sun 09-Mar-14 21:36:00

She's quite dainty, isn't she? Shouldn't cause too much damage - although Pete probably knows that already...grin

Lona Sun 09-Mar-14 21:24:47

I'd enter for those but I'm afraid that I'd cause a blackout!
However Lisa said she fancied coming..........

Ana Sun 09-Mar-14 21:20:16

Is that on your lap, Pete? I hope you've got a reinforced gusset - some ladies can get a bit carried away with their footwork...

Pete Sun 09-Mar-14 21:00:23

Lap dancing auditions in the back room after the football highlights.....

Lona Sun 09-Mar-14 13:59:27

Don't tell Pete, but I had coffee at the next table to Sir Alex this morning.
I casually asked if he fancied going back to work, but he just burst out laughing! I can't think why! wink

Tegan Sun 09-Mar-14 12:39:10

No, but he's a much softer person. Very hard on his horses still sad. Whereas Liam will never puch a tired horse into a fence [which is why he'll never be champion jockey].

Anne58 Sun 09-Mar-14 12:27:05

In many ways, yes, but do you think his riding style has changed? (He'll never replace Ruby in my affections!)

Tegan Sun 09-Mar-14 11:41:16

I never took my dogs to the stables after one of the horses chased my spaniel across a field [she dived out of the way at the last moment; the horse really was intent on killing her]. Same horse kicked her owners dog in the head. Never understood how dogs and horses get along so well at these places? My ex took my dogs down the field once and got kicked on his hand protecting them from being kicked [I'd told him not to take them there]. McCoys a different man since he had kids isn't he.

Anne58 Sun 09-Mar-14 11:12:13

Yes, young Archie (7 months old?) has had surgery, but seems to be doing well so far.

Poor dog, you'd think that stable dogs are ok around horses, and that horses are ok around stable dogs, but things happen.

I remember reading what an absolute sod Long Run was in the yard.

Tegan Sun 09-Mar-14 00:24:37

Thank goodness; have found out it's a school inset day next Friday so I won't miss watching the Gold Cup grin. They said after Big Bucks last race his head didn't come off the floor for 2 weeks, so I'm really worried for him. My eyes are on stalks from studying the races but, thus far I haven't got a clue what to back. The great thing about Venetia doing well is that our Liam is getting lots of winners for her; I hope he has a good Cheltenham like last year. He named his new puppy after the horse that won for him. We also heard that My Tent or Yours neds to win for Nicky Henderson to make up for kicking the stable dog, Meg and breaking her leg [she died soon afterwards sad]. Have you heard about McCoys little boy being in hospital sadsad. I hope he's ok.

Anne58 Sat 08-Mar-14 23:45:22

Venetia's had a reasonable season so far, hasn't she?

Pete Sat 08-Mar-14 23:45:16

You mean a double lona ? Last orders please....

Anne58 Sat 08-Mar-14 23:43:45

Ana well, you can walk a dog in the park, in the woods etc but if you are walking it in a pink hoodie................... oh never mind, I think it's just me, brain wired wrong!

Pete longest odds winner I ever had was 40 - 1! I was really grin

Tegan I do wish I was going! And Annie running against Big Bucks! WOW!

Lona Sat 08-Mar-14 22:59:11

What are the odds on someone starting a 'daft drinking game'?
I'll have a large one while I'm waiting please Pete hmm...better make it quick!

Ana Sat 08-Mar-14 22:38:34

25 to one - that's easy money, Pete! (if you bet on the right team/nag/ X-Factor contestant etc. of course). I'm sure phoenix or someone will be able to fill you in on the 100 - 30 odds, I think you'd have to be quite rich and have 'insider knowledge' to take them though! wink

Pete Sat 08-Mar-14 22:29:29

Can't understand this 'odds' thing....100 to 30?? I asked the bloke who delivers the pork scratchings what 25 to 1 was....he said "well you bet a tenner and you lose a tenner"...still in the dark!

Nonu Wed 05-Mar-14 20:31:21

Thanks for that snippet Tegan, although I have to say I find Watching the racing on the big old flat screen in the parlour, slightly more restful these days !!
Me older , Heaven forbid !!!
wink

Tegan Wed 05-Mar-14 19:41:52

No; I go on the Tuesday. Interesting story behind Annie. She was named after the breeders mother who was a feisty Irish lady. As with Camelot they saved the name till they knew they had bred the 'special' one. I wish I was going on the Thursday as well, now; in fact I'm doing the school run that day so I won't see the race live sad. It was always better when they had the Stayers and the Gold Cup on the same day; we always used to go then but now find Gold Cup day too crowded and Stayers day lacking in substance [it was always a good build up to the GC]. I'm swotting like mad at the moment cause it's our preview night tomorrow and I haven't a clue which horses are running on which days.
