My dear old Dad fell down his rather steep stairs when he was well into his eighties. He cracked two ribs quite badly but there was no treatment - they prefer to leave them to heal naturally apparently. Very painful until they do and sneezing, coughing and sleeping were problematic. Hope you both soon feel a bit easier Thistledoo and Dusty.
