I thought that we had already reached the 1000 messages. Maybe we haven't. Anyway...for when we do, here's the new extension. I'm making it warm and cosy and there are date slices to be enjoyed. Rory has claimed his corner of the sofa. wink

annodomini Thu 28-Nov-13 21:15:34

Cakefest and party are not incompatible!

AlieOxon Thu 28-Nov-13 21:00:22

Galen Thu 28-Nov-13 20:47:30

Happy birthday for tomorrow Bags

Lona Thu 28-Nov-13 20:22:49

Well done to them all anno, glad someone's up there, my lot are very much in the other direction at the moment! grin
At least they can only go up!

Should we have a party for bags tomorrow, or just have a cakefest? wink

annodomini Thu 28-Nov-13 20:14:58

Alie, you really must stop making yourself invisible. I might have sat on you! OK Ariadne, where's the wine? I must toast GD who passed her driving theory test today; DS2 who got a good result in an OU French exam and DS1 who has passed a significant test in his career. Our family's stars must be in the ascendant or something. smile

Golly Bags almost twins. grin don't suppose you are 64 though, so I can't pass on the earworm...
Happy Birthday tomorrow wine

Page 2 already!!!
Nice to hear Soop and bags had a lovely day - didn't know about the birthday tomorrow!! I have had a lovely afternoon with a good friend who doesn't work on Thursdays so we had a mosey round Dobbies, folllowed by coffee and Yum-yums!! Left DH sound asleep on the sofa - now he has his post-op ear pain under control he has a lot of sleep to catch up on.
Isn't "wabbit" a wonderful word? Lots of people don't know what it means, but like "peely-wally" it is so expressive!

AlieOxon Thu 28-Nov-13 18:28:40

anno you didn't have the sofa to yourself - I've been dozing on it all day. I must be the invisible woman.
Evenin' all.
I have been having a rest day after two stressful ones....gutter men and then singing.....I've realised that I will have to sing standing up on the 17th, so I had better make sure I can. Back to the back exercises.

About that 'cockles of your heart' phrase - I found this:
"one theory is that the phrase "cockles of your heart" is derived from the Latin description for the heart's chambers, cochleae cordis."

Ariadne Thu 28-Nov-13 17:58:46

Hello, everyone! Bags here is your birthday present for tomorrow - you have to guess what it is! smile

A bit of a non starter of a day - felt decidedly "wabbit" so have rested and pottered about, drunk lots of water, had twice as many wees and now feel ok. Budge up on that sofa, anno! Almost time for a wine, don't you think?

Looking forward to the photos thatbags. Not long back from a long, lazy, hardworking lunch, followed by a very large brandy. Home just in time to catch a beautiful sunset. smile

thatbags Thu 28-Nov-13 17:18:46

Just back from lunch with soop and mrsoop in Inverary. It was lovely. I'm about to eat the date slice she gave me and drink some coffee but I'm not allowed to open my birthday present until tomorrow. I say "present" but soop showered me with gifts, inlcuding a jumper and some chocolates as well as the mystery parcel. Photos of we two anon smile smile smile

annodomini Thu 28-Nov-13 16:56:58

Where's everyone? I've just dropped in to recover from lunch. Went with NWR friends to the Marie Curie fundraising lunch where there were some tempting stalls selling Christmas cards and stocking fillers. There was a demonstration by Clarins staff from John Lewis, doing a facial on a willing volunteer. And, most importantly, the food was good - very filling! Now I need to slump and evidently I have the sofa all to myself. Feet up!

Damson gin - just what I need for a nightcap. Thanks, Nellie.

Nelliemoser Wed 27-Nov-13 23:27:32

I have Damson Gin a plenty. It warms the cockles of your heart!
Wherever did that expression come from?

gracesmum Wed 27-Nov-13 21:57:28

A wine free day? Don't understand the question. Oh, G&T. Whew! Actually discovered a bottle of Calvados so am gradually working my way through it very warmingsmile!
Love and healing vibes to all!

glassortwo Wed 27-Nov-13 21:46:14

Galen Wed 27-Nov-13 21:09:35

I'm too bed soon. I've a heavy day with two potentially violent claimants. If you hear of a murder in Bristol tomorrow:-

It's probably one of them, murdered by me!

AlieOxon Wed 27-Nov-13 20:53:40

Lona I think I've had enough of this day.....
I am going to sleep right here on this couch. G'night, all.

Lona Wed 27-Nov-13 20:17:42

Go for it Alie, sometimes it's just what you need! grin
