Good Morning Saturday

Good morning!! Miserable here but not actually raining - yet.

We have DD3's dog (a gorgeous Norfolk Terrier) while they are away. So far, he has broken the cat flap, dismembered part of the fence and our cat has left home. Apart from that it's going really well!

At least he made my friend laugh when she came for a cup of tea yesterday.

Wet dull here in Lancashire but....we are off with GS to see "THRILLER" at Blackpool Grand theatre, (Pizza Hut first)! and GS doesn't know yet may even take a horse and trap journey through the Illuminations when we come out we don't normaly have much planned for weekends so looking forward to it.

That made me laugh kitty particularly as I am typing with my 8 week old dachshund pup asleep on my feet. I am dying for a cup of coffee but don't want to wake him up so I may try sliding my feet inch by inch out from under him. The good news is that he didn't howl the house down last night - the bad news is that he hates the rain and cries pitifully before charging inside to relieve himself! My big challenge for today is - nip out to the shops at top speed whilst leaving him in his pen in the kitchen (poor neighbours having to listen to the racket he will make). Wish me luck!

We're meeting DD, DSinL, DGD and DGS for a curry at 7pm. Looking forward to seeing them all for the first time this week (unusually). It will be interesting to see how DGS (aged 8) gets on with curry as he is a very plain eater although a hearty one! Carpe diem everyone!

Good morning. Pale grey sky in Cheshire today.
I have been having a bad morning. I woke at 4am shoulder and arm aching came down and sat with the ice pack on it. After an hour of that I went back to bed with a hot water bottle. Then I woke up just before 8 still very tired and got ready so I could take my Alendronic Acid and sit up straight for the approved time. Can I find my bloody glasses! Can I heck as like. I went to get the spares out of the car in the end.
I had already put in my eye drops which didn't help. I thought I had the glasses in my hand at one time. I have looked in the obvious places but don't want to bend over until this B tablet has gone down.
Damn and blast!

vegasags good to hear you haven't our puppy now. I remember those early days! I bet he's gorgeous. Break the record with your dash round the shops!

Nellie have you tried next to the kettle/on the mantelpiece? When - he is very cute, especially when he has tight hold of the hem of the curtains and is trying to gallop off with them!

When'im I did try my head, that has happened before. I have just found them in the side of small draw unit next to the one where I keep my eye drops and ever increasing pile of pills.
I have some of those plastic draw units on wheels in the bottom of my wardrobe. It was dark and I did have my eye drops in when I started looking.

Good morning everyone. Dull here so far but warm sunny day forecast so living in hope. We are packing up for the winter here as we leave here next Friday and will not be back till about 15 Dec - visiting family in UK and USA so really looking forward to it. I am on a mission today to find the key to one of the suitcase padlocks - not inside case as I usually put it and we have moved country since they were last used and locked!! Enjoy your outing bikergran I bet you will have a delighted GS and also earn yourself a lot of Brownie points!!! The ride to see the illuminations sounds lovely - I think I would like to do that. I will be seeing 2 GS in USA that I have not seen since last Christmas - happy days I hope.

vegas I looked in the fridge, the washing up bowl and the laundry
basket! It's a good job I don't tend to take them off at all during the day or that would be a regular pantomime.

Overcast here but not cold. Tried to phone sister in NZ but she was watching rugby (fanatical!) so conversation not easy. Then DS2 on the phone, ranting about education and the economy. The latter I understood not at all! Going out to buy a load of daffs to fill the gaps left by the clearance of my unruly garden.

Nellie, have you got one of those necklace things to hang your specs from? I've decided to get one, as I'm slowly morphing in to my mum, and spending too much time looking for my specs. I use eye drops as well, and this morning thought my specs weren't working, till I remembered I needed drops is.
It's overcast and a typical day here in our old cotton town area, grey, grey and more grey, with a real damp in the air that is already making my bones ache.
I was up twice in the night with the young dog, who had sickness and that other stuff and barked for me to a) clean it up and b) let him out. Older dog seemed a bit ashamed on his behalf, whereas young dog seemed delighted to be getting attention of any kind. He had a deaf ear on his tea time walk, no doubt he was scavenging.
Well, it is Saturday and I plan to enjoy it. A short dog walk for young dog, long one for older dog. If the rain stops, I'm going to put some more bulbs in to brighten things up in the spring.

Iam I would have one of those if I needed it but I wear my varifocals all day. It usually mornings when the problem arises.

Nellie, my glasses are the last thing I take off at night and the first thing I put on in the morning - always within reach, on my bedside table. They are the one thing I can invariably find. At the moment my cheque book has gone walkabout!

I used to say that anno. That my glasses were the one thing I could find without them.

Re the economy....I just reread a little book by John Harris...it left me thinking once again just what a very weird and peculiar setup it is!

When my parents celebrated their golden wedding anniversary, dad told the assembled family that he loved being married to mum, even though he'd spent such a high proportion of those 50 years - looking for her glasses.
I now have reading glasses, and varifocals for driving and watching football on tv. The readers are a cheap pair, the others aren't, so I look after them. I am still training myself to put each pair back in its case, and then into my handbag so I don't spend half the day looking for the specs needed for a particular task (putting the washing machine on ) .
