Toilet tents for camping?

A torch to find your way to the shower block?
Or are you doing the real thing and just parking yourselves in a random field?
Have to confess I have sometimes resorted to just 'going' in the dark a few metres from the tent

If you just need somewhere to hide while you use the bucket and jug system then you can usually get a really cheap 2nd hand tent on ebay.

I'm never sure how far we're going to be from the shower block jane and these days, not very far is too far
My dodgy knees prevent crouching unless there is something to hold on to, so 'going' as you describe is sadly not an option.

My DS and I were talking about camping/caravanning the other day. We both decided that when we have a holiday, we want in other words a really good relaxing time. Why would we want something that entails some hard work. Like putting up a tent, going to the loo in uncomfortable circumstances, a cold shower block, cooking on a 1/2 ring burner, fetching the water etc etc. My idea of a holiday is either a really lovely hotel or renting a cottage in the countryside - both with all mod cons.
We aren't the type to just sit by a pool. We love walking and exploring the area, sightseeing, going to museums and so forth. But when we put our head down it's not in a tent or a caravan.

My own feelings too, dorsetpennt though I don't mind a basic, comfortable hotel. We once had a caravan, which taught me that I didn't want one. It did make a good spare room, though!

But, to be fair, I am sure that expense comes into the equation too, for a lot of people.

Anyway, I've solved the problem by buying my own rather gorgeous tent. An expensive solution but it will be good to have the extra space & independence. I'll be able to jug & bucket to my hearts content!

Notso, glad to hear that you have your own facilities now. Just wondering though, whether, when you camp, you have grandchildren in the party, as they will now want to sleep with Granny.

memories of sitting on the potti in the toilet tent ............. till it took off leaving me in the cold wet wind , not a pretty sight
