Have a good weekend, Nellie.

In Cheshire its overcast but not too cold. I am about to drive down 180or so miles to Pembrokeshire.

I really don't know what to wear on the way, or how the weather will change. So I will put a variety of garments in the car and change up or down as needed. That is the benefit of going by car and not by train.

I just wish it was possible to rely on the temperature in the UK in summer. In winter its so much easier.

I have to get off GN and get the car packed.

Good afternoon from a wet and dismal Boston. Started off sunny this morning, then clouded over, rain started about a half hour ago.

Poor Christchurch. Really been through it, with people without mains water for months after earthquake etc. They don't need any more natural events to test their resilience. Puts our iffy weather into context doesn't it.

Thanks for the bulletin, absent. I spoke to my sister in Christchurch two days ago when she was expecting a heavy snowfall. She lives on a hill south of the city and the driveway up to her house is practically vertical. So I hope she is well stocked up with all necessities.

Good morning Britain - it's evening here and we have just eaten supper. The rain ha been extremely heavy and some parts of the South Island have flooded. I feel desperately sorry for those people who live in or near Christchurch. They are still experiencing all sorts of problems caused originally by the huge earthquake a couple of years ago, exacerbated by endless problems with insurance companies and so on. Following recent floods, they are now experiencing snowstorms with the possibility of power outages and food shortages. Quite a lot of main roads have been shut because of the snow. We are fortunate in that all we have had to put up with has been heavy, but not flooding rain.

Good morning to you all, cloudy here too, and very "heavy". Could do with a little rain, to save watering the pots. Just hope it is not as hot as it was yesterday - never really happy with the weather, are we? Enjoy your day.

Just hope it stays that way, as I have to travel down to Brighton to prune my Mums tree today.
