Has anybody else got a dog like mine?.

I dog sit regularly for Juragran, and her lovely old dog revels in the snow, rolling in it with evident pleasure. I guess dogs vary as much as humans - I love the snow and my daughter hates it, which is one reason why she chose her particular area of New Zealand!

My dog will happily walk through snow and mud, but doesn't like anythng fallng out of the sky and landing on her head. I have to laugh, watching her blink rapidly each time rain or snow catches her lovely face. The last straw is hailstones - she won't venture outside when it's pelting down, or will try to hide behind my knees for shelter. Such a wuss!

about an inch of snow here (rural) Ollie the lurcher spotted a rabbit in the field and went full pelt in pursuit. Missed the rabbit but did a victory roll anyway - unfortunately below the inch of snow was mud so he is not as clean as he should be

Barney will not walk when it's raining even though he has a smart waxed doggy coat,I picked a waxed coat with him being a JR and they are supposed to be outdoor ratters etc,what a baby he is far to fond of his creature comforts wouldn't know a rabbit if it jumped on top of him furthest he will go this time of year is front path and quick walk around the block then back to the comfort of his doggy fleece.

I think their poor little paws get cold and if a long-haired dog, snow can catch in the hairs and between the pads which must feel like a stone in your shoe does to us. We used to have a Cavalier King Charles spaniel when I was a child and he was a total wuss - it took him years to learn to lift his leg, for instance, he used to do girlie squats when he wanted a wee and one day Mum let him out into the garden when it had snowed heavily - he squatted, the snow melted but must have refrozen very quickly as Mum could hear him squealing and apparently unable to get up again - frozen to the ground in a very sensitive area

We used to have retriever and when he was out in the snow it used to ball up around the long hair on his feet, he found that most uncomfortable and would try to nibble it away. I now have a short haired rescue collie/lab cross and although we only had a very light dusting of snow this morning, he was more than happy to go out as usual

My dog has done the same today as yesterday.
He is a cairn terrior and they originated from the cold highlands of Scotland but he likes to be by the fire. He was born in Aberdeen.
People have said that he knew what he was doing when he came down to Birmingham.
I supose I should take him to see his country soon as he last saw it when he was 8 weeks old.
