"Today I've been is full" So I have started What I did Today, as I have something to be a granny bore with.
Today I became a gran for real. DD had my 1st GC 8 days after due date. Several days of twinges and a bad night. DD rang me at 12;15 today.Just seen midwife at clinic, 3cm and waiting for the taxi to hospital. 5pm I had a phone call, baby had arrived at at 3:30 pm. That is 3 to 10cm in 3hrs! Noah Alexander ***. 6lb 11ozs. Forceps as baby was tiring but amazingly quick DD and SIL surprised by the speed. DD tired and sore but says she is totally in love. I am visiting tomorrow 60 miles away. What a day
Marelli it's good to know I am sometimes invisible - the double walk down and up Victoria Street is obviously doing the trick Gracesmum great news about Mr.Grace - may he continue to make good progress
Just to add DH has had a good day, he is responding well to antib's and unless they find any "nasties" in liver or heart valve he may be home before the end of the week!
I had a HUGE embarrassment at the cinema. I always take a bottle of water with me. To allow myself two hands to get my purse out of my bag I put the water bottle between my knees. No one could see it because I was wearing my long winter coat. As I look down [there's a queue of people behind me] there is a big puddle where I'm standing. I tell the lad selling the tickets and he radios for someone to come and clean it up shouting 'there's a spillage!' Very red faced I wave my bottle around saying 'it's water' .
Certain of us make chutney to give away at that festival which cannot yet be named. Notso makes wine and liqueurs. She was describing how to make orange and coffee liqueur and we persuaded her to share it with everyone on the recipe page. If it does not appear soon, get ready to nag her.
Today we drove home after a wonderful conference and dinners and lunches and lots of wine and dancing in Lille.
It takes a LOT longer to drive back to Devon. When we lived in Kent we were half an hour from the tunnel; however, how lovely to drive down the hill and see the lights on the quay reflected in the water. Aaahhhh, home. And it really is. Cannot move. Diet begins tomorrow.
(Did stop off at Auchan in Calais to buy wine and cheese! Diet starts at weekend.)
Meant to text you back glass to say that I was found, but it was all go (esp tongues)
I turned on my mobile phone to ring Gally when I found the Petit France all locked up and found a text from you on it - so replied with a wail! You would notice from the typos that I don't text a lot.
