Gally, this morning it's dull and damp, though it's to brighten later apparently. Lot's of itching from the little beasties that jump off my trees and bushes in the garden, though.....must get hold of some Tiger Balm, as advised by Bags. My little chemist didn't have it.

Apart from choosing a new name, I've been slathering Germolene on insect bites - how lovely is that? My new name doesn't make one think of Germolene and insect bites! It's the time of year for these and I'm covered in large itchy bumps...
The 'magic' ointment here is Lucas' Paw Paw Ointment; it seems to cure everything! I always take a load of tubes back for my 'customers' after each visit. Especially good for sore bottoms - no, not Grannys' bottoms - babies' bottoms

The sun is shining and we've had a pleasant stroll through the village. Met friends at the local art show. Huge amount of talent in this area. Treated myself to a very quirky watch on a beaded bracelet. It was very reasonably priced.It's so pretty. Rory, the feral cat, has been away for 60 hours [I've been counting.] Went to my bed last night, fretting that he had met with an accident. This morning, Mr soop tickled my toes as they peeped from the bed sheet and said...'someone is waiting to say hello...' I leapt out of bed [went a bit dizzy] and there he sat, as cat's do, all very neat and tidy. He heard my voice and licked his lips. Out I went [wearing next to nowt] with a large bowl of Tesco's finest cat food. He appeared to be pleased to see me and delighted to see the breakfast. He's now asleep in his apartment. A robin has been in and out picking up a few morsals from under his nose. Rory pays no attention whatsoever! He makes me .

Butter He may be feral, but to us he's special. He's looking very sleek and healthy. When we first caught sight of him [on a bitterly cold winter's day] he was very tatty and thin. He kept well away from us for ages. When he did begin to trust us [not to hurt him] he was inclined to lash out. I wore wellies to protect my legs from his random swipes. Now, he wanders into the utility room, stretches, claws the mat, meows and winds around our legs [which are often bare.] Then, after a tremendous stretch and yawn, he wanders alongside the bearer of food, and settles down to dine in his apartment. Animals can provoke great pleasure by appearing to belong...
Trying to get an early night last night because of travelling today and there was a blessed mosquito in my bedroom; every time I started to nod off it started buzzing again. Knowing that I'd probably wake up covered in lumps I had difficulty sleeping. Were inundated at work a couple of weeks ago with people having terrible reactions to mossie bites, swelling arms etc, and Boots sold out of antihistamine cream. By the way, only went into this thread having read the word 'hows the hedgehog'?

gracesmum, at least you can go to a manicurist and get acrylic nails for a bit of glamour. And if you continue in this kind of spin, you will probably drop a dress size within days! Otherwise, you might need one of those undergarments that sound so convincing on makeover shows but are actually instruments of torture. Chin up and
