Today I've been.....

I had a final drive round the district with Greatnan, lovely lunch in a very good restaurant in her village. The flight home arrived 20 minutes early and now I am home after a really great holiday - perfect weather, wonderful scenery and great company.

My kitchen is finished the fitter managed to fit the cupboard without damaging it. I now have one sparkly white cupboard and the rest of the kitchen is about ready for repainting.

Glass thanks...cold wind yesterday 'still I managed to get loads of washing dry.
baNANA... know the feeling but it does come over boys too! Driving a stroppy 18 month old (He did talk early!) to look for ducks to feed, we drove past a lovely white windmill and remarked on it only for a grumpy voice in the back to say...'It's black'
From then on stroppy days were known as 'black windmill days'.
Today I'm taking my neighbour to our nearest 'Outlet Village' as a reward for keeping an eye on our house (lunch included!).

Yes, it was great to discover Haute Savoie with Greatnan. She really knows her way around and is a very good driver - I never had white knuckles even on a certain road with 17 hairpin bends.

And you were a great passenger, anno - unlike a certain lady that I love very much!

I still have white knuckles! I've just returned from off-roading across the Pyrenees from St. Jean Pied de Port to Pamploma. The scenery was simply superb - particularly early morning above the cloud line, although the backpacking hostel in Pamploma is not to be recommended! Then to St. Jean de Luz - grubby and tired.
My bones will never be the same again. An exhilarating time. Just got back and still on a high.

Butternut - after I found my first house in Aude I had eight days left to spare, so I drove right across the Spanish Pyrenees from the Med almost to the Atlantic. I love St. Jean Pied de Port and the whole area. Next month I am house-swapping back to Pyrenees Orientales and I am going to spend a couple of days in Barcelona with a woman friend. There are several lovely passes between France and Spain and I have used them all.
You have reminded me of how much I love the Pyrenees Atlantiques - I feel another trip coming on!

I love St Jean de Luz, my favourite town in France.
We are on holiday on the Mediterranean coast in the Pyrenees Orientales, swimming every day in the sea which is in front of our balcony. Fab!

Is it windy, Mamie? I lived on the lagoon at St.Cyprien Plage, and it was lovely to swim every day, but my little gs did not like the wind.

It has been calm up until now but the Tramontane is just starting up; our bay on the Cote Vermeille is very sheltered and though we can see the breakers out at sea, the water here is calm. Today we went for a lunchtime swim when the beach was empty and the wind blew our bag off the path into the sea. We swam furiously across the bay just in time to rescue OH's crocs, the towel and our keys to the car and the apartment....

Gosh Grans! I want to set off again. Some days I just feel like pointing my car and driving (usually when I've just got back from a holiday!)
But I did find some bargains. Not one not two BUT three pairs of trousers for £34.... is that a record? 'Blue-crossed' in a sale, two linen and one chino... do I need them?

So jealous Mamie,I could jump in that sea

Just had to post.... my dgd has just started walking this afternoon! Must have been this poor old nanna walking her round all afternoon yesterday!
