Longish sleeves on tee shirts

I don't quite know where to put this, and it may be a frivolous topic, but I would like some recommendations, if it is allowed, on where to buy tee shirts with elbow length sleeves. Now the sun has come out at last I have got out my old tee shirts, but the effect is most unsightly - bingo wings in short. Fine for wearing at home and in the garden, but I do need some with sleeves that come down to the elbow to wear in public. I am sure there are lots of elegant Gransnetters out there who could help, please.

Land's End perhaps, ganja.

I also like the odd light weight shawl/scarf to cover on occasions, but not because of my arms, but because they can look very nice. I have to say though that mostly I don't bother in private or public.

Tulchan have some tees with three-quarter length sleeves.

Ganja Kettlewell do an amazing range of tee shirts in lovely colours with elbow length sleeves. I have a small selection. I also like a collar [to hide my scrawny neck]. Likewise, Peruvian Connection and Spirit of the Andes are super quality.

Thanks for those tips, ladies. I also like longer-length t-shirts, not because of bingo wings but because of my horrible wrinkly elbows! The left one is permanently red due to leaning on it while internetting (work as well as GN, I hasten to add!).

Bonmarche do t-shirts with long and three quarter length sleeves.

M&S are doing a (slightly) longer sleeve style in their woman range at £7.50 - be careful not to buy the cheaper one. It has a bit of stretch and looks like reasonable weight cotton. Limited colour range but worth a look.

Thank you all very much. I shall sit down tomorrow and have a good look at the suggestions. I knew Gransnetters would come up trumps.flowers flowers [ flowers]

I got some v. nice, not skimpy, three quarter sleeve, reasonably priced t-shirts from Fat Face (a place you might not think to look for suitable clothes!)

Should have looked at this earlier. Went out this afternoon to look for a new skirt and top... squeeeezed myself into tops marked my usual size but they looked awful blush.... bought a skirt easily though so will now trawl the web for a top to go with it..thanks for suggestions!smile

cangran...I've bought fatface too..........have a lovely longsleeved t shirt from them that is so soft and silky and yet its cotton, so is very cool. But will always recommend Landsend, tis not cheap but if you're lucky and trawl through the reduced items you can sometimes get a bargin (I have several times, infact I dont think I've ever bought at full price come to think of it.

I surfed the 'sale' items on Landsend last night and found three tee shirts with £9 off altogether and a bit more off with a code sent in an email. They should last longer than M&S ones which are dusters within a year. However, it's also worth having a look at the 'outlet' section on the M&S web site. This is run by Amazon and has mostly discontinued lines. So much easier than ploughing through those awful sale rails they have in M&S during their clearance sales when you see garments that you've never seen in the store before.

Annobel, yes have used the M&S Outlet too - and the Amazon service is v. good!

Last week bought a t-shirt with elbow length sleeves, lovely colour, scoop neckline, self colour decoration on front , 6 very pretty buttons
where? In Clic charity shop
It's M&S Per Una in mint condition.Cost £3.50! I guess the buttons alone could cost almost that.

I asked the same thing ages ago, and I'm still looking! I want reasonably fitted t shirts, not beach - baggy ones, in a variety of plain colurs, with sleeves either to or just above the elbow, a reasonable neckline (not too scooped) and I do not want to pay an exorbitant price for them!

M&S did have them in their Portfolio range, which they have now discontinued!

I'm finding it very hard to find t-shirts that don't plunge too deeply, or have boat necks. I don't want to show either my bra straps or too much cleavage.
There used to be a wide range of v-necks, but these days they're all too low!

Anne58 Tue 29-May-12 20:47:39

Anagram I'm with you re. the bra straps, and even if I did have any cleavage, I wouldn't want to be showing much of it!
