Won't such things as the torchbearers' tracksuits be sponsored?

I have discovered that the torch is passing through the Mini car plant in Oxford, so might take the GCs if they are interested, as it is only about 3 miles from my village. I wouldn't bother on my own.
Is every flame bearer going to be provided with a white track suit or will they be laundered and re-used I wonder? Think of the expense for that alone!hmm

Today I discovered that the torch bearer here is not a local person at all as was first reported and not only that they only run a few yards and then get into a car for a good bit before hopping out and running/ trotting a bit more. Most disappointed.

goldengirl The DT was an abbreviated list; www.london2012.com/torch-relay/route/
gives you the exact where & when.

I'll go and see it if I have nothing better to do and it won't take much effort on my part.

Did you know that if the torch bearer wants to keep the torch they carry they have to pay £200?

I'm going to get caught in the traffic going to work that day!
I have sorted out the travel guides to Israel and Ephesus for you.
See you soon I hope.

Olympic torch coming past the end of road in my village at 6.45 a.m.I'll put alarm on. Can't imagine road being lined with children at that hour.

I thought it was coming to my town but in the DT today it seems it isn't so our local rag appears to be wrong. I'm not an Olympics fan but seeing the torch would have been special sad

I'd planned where the best spot would be as it came through my town ...keen to witness - but ...since discovered I'll not be in the country!! shock

Sorry - yawn...

It is coming through our village next Saturday about mid day - they are planning to have an open day at the local leisure centre with refreshments etc. Me? I have an appointment at the hospital at 12-00 otherwise I would have been there cheering it on.

It coming past very close to our road and through a nearby park , I have to do an airport run that afternoon I'm going to leave early in case they close the roads, so no I won't be on the street watching.. I'm sure many others will be though

JessM Fri 18-May-12 18:40:10

Yes I plan to be there. A friend of mine who has worked very hard to raise money for Leukaemia and Lymphoma research - after surviving Leukaemia herself - is one of the torchbearers. So I will be cheering for her. One of the torch bearing grandmothers smile

Is the Olympic Torch coming your way? Are you going out to see it go passed? Is your town/village abuzz? It comes through us next Thursday and the town is decorated; the schools are all coming out (and giving a concert afterwards)_ and it looks like the whole population will be there. What about other GNs?
