Early start, as had to travel to surgery to give some blood samples. Beautiful day. A lovely drive along the road that hugs the beach almost all the way to Campbeltown. Bluebells making a colourful splash. New shoots on trees and hedges are the purest, freshest green. Home again and about to get back to Wee Man's album. Could be finished by the end of the day smile

Jacey Wed 02-May-12 11:37:12

We seem to have got two of these!!

GNHQ can you add this to the other one??

Anagram Wed 02-May-12 11:41:55

This is the follow-on, Jacey - Volume 5!

Well done soop - didn't take you that long, did it? smile

Jacey Wed 02-May-12 11:43:37

But we've got two Vol 5s anagram ...this is the second one!!

soop Wed 02-May-12 11:45:24

hmm confused bet that soop was to blame wink

Anagram Wed 02-May-12 11:46:52

You're absolutely right, Jacey - I missed that! Someone's cocked messed things up! grin

soop Wed 02-May-12 12:28:40

Anagram soop's sorry. Back to the naughty corner. As an act of contrition I shall stand on one leg. Who's going to sort things? Cari Please! smile

GoldenGran Wed 02-May-12 13:24:52

Don't see you have done anything wrong Soop, I can't find the other thread.
Today I have tried to tidy up house, the last week has been hectic. My step-mother was admitted into Hammersmith Hospital a week ago, with me beside her in an ambulance in the middle of the night. She had open heart surgery yesterday, and has survived and was apparently sitting up in a chair drinking tea this morning-she is 83 and a walking miracle! I shall visit her with my sister-in-law,who has moved into our house during this time, this afternoon. A week ago we didn't think that step-mother would make it a few more days let alone a week.

golden glad your MIL is doing well after a huge op like thatflowers

Anagram Wed 02-May-12 13:49:32

Actually, I wasn't meaning you, soop! I think HQ should be more on the ball...[holier-than-thou emoticon]

soop Wed 02-May-12 14:49:33

Golden Your step-mother is doing remarkably well, bless her. Long may she continue to make a good recovery. Is Hammersmith Hosp on the Fulham Palace Road? If so, it's a stone's throw from our Wee Man's home, and we've walked past it on many occasions.

Greatnan Wed 02-May-12 14:58:43

Best wishes to you and your step mother, Goldengran, - stories like yours give me hope for the future.

Butternut Wed 02-May-12 16:55:53

I started the other one early this morning ...... now I'm confused! hmm

Bags Wed 02-May-12 17:06:10

Hope you enjoyed your willow weaving, butty. Did you get the basket finished?

Butternut Wed 02-May-12 17:10:19

I did! It's lovely. I've posted on the other Vol. 5.

GoldenGran Thu 03-May-12 06:40:22

Soop,no funnily enough it is not near Hammersmith, that hospital you walk past is Charing cross Hospital, which is nearer where I live than the other. Do you walk the Wee Man to Bishop 's park? I used to do that when mine were small.

greenmossgiel Thu 03-May-12 09:45:53

soop - is that Westport beach you're talking about? We've walked that beach in all weathers, and have the photos to prove it! One day, near to the area where sometimes people surf (near the little graveyard in the field, I think?) we'd taken a rest in the rocks and we'd clambered up a wee bit and discovered that someone had laid a concrete slab at the top of one of the highest ones. On this was a small 'sculpture' of the devastated Twin Towers. It faced out across the ocean, with nothing between it and America. This would have been the summer of 2002, I think.

soop Thu 03-May-12 12:55:04

Golden Ha! Do I walk Wee Man to Bishop's Park? I should say so, and he walks the best part of the way back to his home. It takes forever. He was given a scooter for his 2nd birthday. Apparently goes like a typhoon! When I'm fit enough to visit London, perhaps we could meet for coffee. I'd like that a lot. smile

green Westport beach is lovely. We must investigate the sculpture. "Our" little beach is nearer to Ronachan [where the seals bask on the rocks]. Next time you're in this area, let us know please. smile

It's been just a tiny bit frantic over at GNHQ today what with birthday tweets from the PM to reply to and a billion or so few other bits and bobs...

It's not possible to merge the two threads so we have christened the latter one Vol 6 to avoid confusion. It may be easiest if after today everyone switched to no 5...safe in the knowledge that vol 6 is ready and waiting. But of course if anyone prefers to stick to one or the other that's entirely fine too.

GoldenGran Thu 03-May-12 13:55:16

That would be lovely*soop*. I live off the Kings Road, so not that far away.

soop Thu 03-May-12 14:00:23

Golden I like that area...beautiful tree-lined road? I shall keep you informed. smile

glassortwo Thu 03-May-12 14:21:55

cari didnt know you were on tweeting terms with PM wink

GeraldineGransnet (GNHQ) Thu 03-May-12 14:31:23

Cari is on tweeting terms with everyone. She is a wonder.

glassortwo Thu 03-May-12 14:38:12

geraldine I dont know how cari has time for tweeting with all the baking she does grin

CariGransnet (GNHQ) Thu 03-May-12 14:44:28

glass simple - one hand for tweeting, one hand for baking. Makes actually eating the cake a tad tricky but I manage...
