Your favourite jewellery

I have a few bits that are of sentimental value, my mum's rings mainly and a couple of my own but I rarely wear any. I do not expect altogether they have much financial value. Keep thinking I should have them remodeled into something/s I might actually wear. Any one had this done..did you regret or was it a good decision??

A gold pendant which is the only piece of jewellery I have to remember my mother by. I wore it when I got married for the second time, but never since - it's too precious and delicate and I just like to look at it occasionally.

I have my mothers engagement ring which I wear a lot and a drop for a necklace which my father bought her before they were married - I don't know what the stone is but it is cut beautifully and I went with my mother when I was about 13 to have the silver mounting changed for a gold one. I have two gold chains of different lengths and I chop and change them with several pendants I have depending on the neckline I am wearing. The stone is a peachy colour with a pale greeny centre - I imagine it is some form of cut quartz.
For many years I had a bracelet one of my uncles brought back from India for me after the war. It was made of Indian coins and I can remember being fascinated as some had holes in the centre. I have absolutely no idea what happened to it - for years it was in a dressing table drawer wrapped in a tissue in a brown envelope. It was all discoloured of course but I never minded that aspect - I just loved my uncle for buying it for me.

My grandmother's rose gold locket, with photos inside of my mother when she was little, a jeweller once said that the slight dents in it might easily be from baby teeth! Not surprising, since DGC always tried to get it when they were babies. I wear it almost every day.

My paternal granny's diamond engagement ring, dated May 1904. And a pretty amethyst and seed pearl pendant my mother gave me for my 21st birthday. With a legacy she left when she died, I bought a pair of earrings that match it perfectly

Like nina I lost everything but my wedding and engagement rings in a burglary when we were on holiday, I was devastated over the items that could not be replaced none of them worth a great deal but held alot of sentiment, and I refuse to have anything other than costume jewellery now.

My favourites when I wore jewellery were three pieces of very good pearls, bought for me by my rich employer - a double choker with a sapphire clasp, a single necklace and a double bracelet. All the pearls were perfectly matched. However, I decided that as I virtually never attend any social occasions, all my jewellery could be distributed amongst my daughters and grand-daughters. This included a couple of diamond rings from the same employer, gold chains and brooches. I now have only one solitaire diamond ring which has a good stone and I like the way it catches the light.

My favourite is a cross and chain which I bought for my then future husband when I was about 19. It has a "bend" on the bottom where he caught it in some machinery and so didn't wear it again. Since he died I wear it every day and would be heartbroken to lose it.

Unfortunately I lost the pieces that meant the most to me in a burglary about 8 yrs ago.

A pair of gold earings I bought myself at the same time as having my ears pierced. All paid for out of my first ever wage packet. Mum had always said "Your not having your ears pierced, until you can pay for it yourself!"

Yes I have a locket from my mother containing hers and my dads pictures. There is a nice family story behind it too. Never wear it and not sure where it is but would be devastated if I lost it.
