Coffee doesn't taste as nice without a biscuit or a flapjack or a pastry or a piece of cake between gulps, does it?

Ariadne Sun 29-Apr-12 07:04:43

Golden I am always ready to help a GN friend, so you just go ahead and make cakes (Victoria sponge would be nice) and I will do all I can to help get them eaten. And I see the others, too, are willing to help out. Let me know when they're ready, and I'll pop over. I'm in Cheltenham at the moment, so will don my wings and join you.

Welcome NanaChrissie I hope we don't get you mixed up with nanachrissy hmm

I shouldn't have read this thread and I will blame you for tempting me as you made me remember there is still some of my zucchini cake in the freezer, how healthy am I, I should permanently have an angel emoticon next to my name. But I wouldn't eat it if it wasn't delicious. smile

Hi all but specially NanaChrissy. I have just signed up to GransNet and we both follow the same threads apparently. Has anyone tried Lisa Faulkner's recipe for Fantasy Cake? Absolutely nana-proof and delicious.

nanaC after the "bake in" on Thursday am and the over risen lemon cake I had to cut in half and send down to DDs for DGCs after school snack, the other half has spent the last two days calling "eat me" every time I go into the kitchen but I have got to think of my best friends wedding in September and if I carry on having a slice I will not get into my posh frock !!! I may just decide to have the last to-morrow after lunch and then banish all kinds of lovely cakey stuff from my house until after September, but come next week I may have had a change of heart as I have promised to do a bake for school funding party (I always get volunteered into it but I do love to do it)grin

Just when I'd decided to start a much needed diet (been comfort eating through dad's downturn), one of my lovely friends at exercise class brought me 4 very chocolatey chocolate cupcakes to cheer me up! Four!!!

She is a wonderful cake baker, and it would have been very rude to refuse.
They were smothered in thick choc cream too!

So far I've wolfed down nibbled one,and put two in the freezer, but the last one is calling to me from the kitchen! grin grin grin

Just call me FATTY.

glammanana Fri 27-Apr-12 17:25:34

Goldengran make the cakes and invite all us GNers to share then you won't be tempted to eat to many grin

He a.so installed the right driver for my printer so I should be able to print the eticket for my cruise!
Not helpful at O2 where I was trying to upgrade to a iPhone!

Glamma wish I lived near you for your Thursday cake bake. I have just bought Marian Keyes book"Saved by Cake" fabulous recipes. I am going to start baking regularly, but not sure how it works with WeightWatchers!

glammanana Fri 27-Apr-12 15:16:34

nightowl I'm not very gorgeous at the moment I have just dried the mane and it is piled up on top looks like "not tonight Josephine" and have just put on joggers and T-shirt after being caught in rain when I was planting some pots out in the front garden,so completly make-up free "au-naturel"

nightowl Fri 27-Apr-12 15:10:49

OOOH thanks glamma I'm there!!! I will bring a lovely selection of teas and coffees to share with all who come. And the best bit is that all this is completely calorie free so none of us needs to worry about putting on an ounce of weight grin grin

(Well, not calorie free for you glamma but I don't think you have to worry about your weight, I have a picture of you in my mind as very gorgeous indeed!)

glammanana Fri 27-Apr-12 15:03:32

Forgot to mention that DD and DGS and DGD came round after school yesterday and DGS brought rock cakes with him that he'd made at school. He is 13 but completely "cool" about cooking - and the cakes were absolutely delicious. A new Jamie in the making?

jack Thu 26-Apr-12 19:44:29
