Anybody else up yet?

The wind was dreadful during the night, at times sounding like an exspress train. Bright and sunny now but still windy. Landscaper can't get on with the garden because he has to keep sweeping up the leaves before he lays the next bit of path. Perhaps the wind will remove the last leaves from the trees and then we can have a final tidy-up.

I took one look out of the window, made myself a and went back to bed. Gale force winds, even more horizontal rain and the sea still making its way up the hill - I think I prefer snow

Well that's the last of the leaves gone from the trees round here - very blowy this morning, but not cold.

Actually it has stopped raining and cleared a bit, and is definitely less windy now. I am going to get up. The day is starting...am I awake? Not really, but it's time I did something - bye for now. Milk, here I come.

No chance of an umbrella staying in one piece here! Good luck with yours, oxon!

Good morning early risers. Everyone's weather seems to have changed and become a bit more seasonal. Cold dark and dreary here, which suits me. I'm cleaning conservatory windows today and it's much harder to do that when the sun's shining. Wishing you all a good Sunday!

Oh, I don't want to get up! But if I want more tea/coffee before 10am when I was planning to shop, I will have to go to the local shops...boo. Looks like umbrella time still. Perhaps if I wait a bit....

Very windy here too and has been all night. I even closed the bedroom window. It's usually open a crack, but not during gales that blow straight in.

I've been awake since 6am very windy here today. DH just left to pick up DD's partner to go on their fishing competition. DD coming in later with DGD and we are out for pub lunch so just pottering around now...

I'm up too. Why is it when you have no reason to wake up early and the alarm is off that you wake even earlier than usual?

It's good when you can just sleep, isn't it. I did it Friday night. But this morning I woke at 3 and I don't know why unless it was the wind making a noise.

I got bored with being in bed with a book, not all that good a book!
I just had my first cuppa, and realised I am running out of milk - just enough for one more.

Morning, Oxon! Am happily up for once! I have my two little GDs (5 & 7) staying, and we had an exhausting day out yesterday, so when the last one fell asleep at 9.00 we went to bed too. Have had a good 8 hours!

Off out at 7.30 to put up our stand (Rotary) at a Christmas lights fair, so DH is doing breakfast. I am just having a quiet cup of coffee before one of them wakes up.

Morning all. I think it is still morning.....I woke at 2, stayed awake until 6, then slept to 10. I think I am human again after a cuppa!

I wish I could tell why this happens!

syberia, I do so know how you're feeling (and my original post a week or so ago, of not being able to stop worrying about family showed that neither of us is alone with this!) If only our 'children' were as sensible as we are (now)! My own son works hard when he can, but doesn't address issues like bills when they come in...and I worry constantly about that, fearing that he'll lose his tenancy on his flat, etc. Like you, there are reasons that it wouldn't be possible for him to live here at home should that happen. When we wake during the night, the worries kick in immediately, don't they. Even picking up a book doesn't always work for me, because I lie and stare at the pages without taking in anything! However, there are worse things, aren't there? They're healthy and perhaps we don't always credit them with their own common sense!

Sleeping pattern disturbed at the moment because of painful shoulders. Woke up early and read, dropped off, read some more, got up! Have just rubbed eyes with a trace of Pernaton still on my fingers - OUCH!

grannyact, they are so very precious and helpless at this age and I am making the most of every minute. Already she is growing out of five 00000s she wasn't that tiny though, 7lb 2ozs.

Ready to face a more or less full day of teaching - after (for me) a reasonable night's sleep, but still with my usual morning tiredness. I have some herbal sleeping tablets which I shall try tonight and somewhere I have a relaxation CD which I aim to dig out.
Have 'dressed up' this morning; nice frock, posh necklace and earrings and a bit of lippy on. I feel I need to shake myself out of the doldrums a little, so this is me, 'making an effort'.
Syberia - they're still our 'children' at any age. Hope things are quickly resolved with your son and your daughter.
Faye your post took me back a couple of years to when my grandson was born prematurely - don't you just know how precious that life is?

Good morning early risers, I feel like quite a stay abed, but have fed DH and myself with porridge and sent him off to work.Syberia we never stop worrying about them, take a (((Hug))). I had the same experience the night before last when I lay awake worrying about my daughter whose ex partner had suddenly stopped giving financial support for the two children,6 and 3. However I gave myself a talking to and managed to sleep through the nightthis time. It does no good , we just have to give them love and support and do what we can,my daughter is no baby, 40, and we need our sleep.
I am meeting my old school friend who is down from Edinburgh, we are going to the Victoria an Albert Museum, I expect there will be more chat than anything else.

Also sorry to hear your news Syberia. We never stop worrying about them, do we. I am holding my granddaughter at the moment, thirteen days old and not due until the 7th December. She is very sweet but has lots of wind at the moment!
