Carers Week 2026 will take place from Monday 8 to Sunday 14 June.

Thousands of individuals and organisations across the UK will come together to raise the profile of caring, highlight the challenges faced by unpaid carers

I think flagging up to all politicians what unpaid carers do would be a really good idea. Older people grinding themselves into the ground trying to keep partners out of care homes are saving UK millions of pounds. And let's be truthful, saving money is all successive govts have cared about for decades

I'm an unpaid carer and I think the authorities get people like me 'on the cheap' considering what we do.

I'm an unpaid carer for my OH too, no carers allowance because I'm a pensioner. Any money we've saved from working
would soon be spent on the price of a care home.
