What clique please ? I don’t wish to fall out with you but saying here comes the clique (followed by laughing emojis) then not explaining is not fair as it makes people worry if you mean them. For example me and Volver have been accused of being each other’s wingman because we agree on lots of things (not everything!) but there are lots of posters who do that and surely two people aren’t a clique.

The thread went off track pages ago.
Anyone could get it back on track if they wish.

Yes cats are lovely too. I would prefer cats/dogs (all animals really) around me whilst I’m alive - not too fussed who or what us at my funeral

Why is anyone being sent to the naughty step? I thought it might be me who was reported for imagining very naughty cats at a funeral. But if so, a sense of humour is severely lacking

Ok dogs and bereavement. My two certainly have picked up on the sadness around us. But I feel there’s more to their changed behaviour than simple reaction to a busier home with higher emotions than usual. The young male lab began guarding me as soon as he came home, total first. He also went straight to mr i’s chair and sat on it, something he’s not allowed to do (well he is now).
I was moved by the image of Emma, the Queen’s pony and the two corgis. A friend’s funeral included two golden labs who escorted her coffin, then lay motionless either side of the coffin throughout the hour long service

Your friend's dogs showed their devotion and may well have been aware of what was happening..

I was worried it was my fault for joking about cats.

Yes dogs are wonderful, I'm sure they do. I'd want to spare them the pain but maybe it's kinder to include them to help them process the loss.

At her state funeral in the Abbey I can't remember there being any mention of her love of animals, it was all very formal and a bit stuffy.
As she had planned it all meticulously maybe she wanted that final public image to be of the devotion she had to her animals and their unconditional love back..
And I believe animals (dogs especially) sense things like happy celebrations or sad bereavement.

The Queen adored her horses and dogs, they were an essential part of her life.
They cared not that she was Her Majesty or Head of State.

I haven’t reported anyone. Volver has reported Callistemon, allegedly for accusing her of being in a clique.

I made a joke about being sent to the naughty step. Personally I think it’s all rather silly and think perhaps some should just take a step back for a bit.

Anyway, aren’t dogs wonderful; they definitely know and feel a lot more than some give them credit for. They know when someone’s died I’m sure.

Did you find it helped your dogs to accept the loss?
