My wonderful friend was killed in a car accident on the motorway yesterday evening. We think she had become confused on the roundabout and went down the exit slipway into oncoming traffic. I am absolutely devastated.
Her body was released this evening and I was too afraid of driving to the wake to see her and be with her family. My own ability to see and drive at night is failing. My son, thank god, drove me there.
Everything gets so hard the older we get. And grief and loss compound the fears.
