What is your opinion of Ker Stammer’s idea of allowing illegal immigrants to remain if they already have a family in the country?
When a few weeks ago, Sir Ker also mentioned that he couldn’t send mothers with young children back .
Great, so they can then bring their family which in the end will cause more staying not less.

Legal immigration if they have a family in uk
(48 Posts)His name is Keir Starmer actually.
That would be an even bigger pull for anyone with family here to jump on a dinghy, no thanks.
He is an idiot.
Just last week it was reported that Afghans can bring their family here. One guy’s family involved 22 people! It was explained that in their culture “family is not the same as in this country.”
So there is no limit on who they can bring …. Presumably Uncle Tom Cobley and all!
Can you point to where you've seen this please *Cath9?
The obvious question: where are they all going to live?

You asked how I found this out.
‘Letting mothers with young children remain’ was in answer in a Press conference.
Allowing immigrants to remain if they already have a family living in the uk was brought up recently by Sir Kier Starmer
This isn’t new and isn’t something Keir Starmer made up as a whim. Having family members here is one of the reasons people try to get to the UK, as they will be entitled to stay.

Wasn’t me Cath9.
I know what you posted is correct.
I'm not entirely sure this is correct for everyone. One of my neighbours, a South African initially on a Spousal Visa, and that now has permanent residence, tried and failed to bring her mother to live in England from South Africa.
I also thought this had been policy for a long time...?
If you were that refugee would you not choose to be with family if that was at all possible? Be glad it’s not you.
I know we are a small island but according to the Red Cross we have just 1% of the world’s refugees. I came here as a baby so suppose I was one of them.
I work with a lot of Indians and a lot of them have left family including children over in India,up until quite recently they were able to bring family over but now they’re not allowed to…
I do feel very sorry for them thousands of miles from their home country and family….
If they are here illegally they should be sent back to their own country. The UK is too soft on immigration.
Surely this is about granting asylum? I'm hoping that the UK will open proper channels so that those who seek asylum can do that without having to have their feet on British soil. If that were to happen I'd feel more comfortable about how we process those who arrive on small boats
When a refugee who has married a British citizen and has a British-born child is allowed to stay without waiting seven years to find out if they can stay and not be deported, then perhaps Sir Keir could think about it!

Some only marry a British Citizen to stay in the country.
Lots of women from the Philippines do that . They'll marry anyone to stay in UK.

Is this a fact, or just your opinion. Do you know or have in your family, ladies from the Philippines?

That's really rather offensive.
I've just read an article about unlicensed HMOs in and around London - a fast growing situation, where four people are sharing a small room with two double beds, and recently a fire killed occupants. You would have to be made of stone to not feel pity for many immigrants, struggling to make a better life, but where are they to live? How do we educate children, when some schools have portakabins in the playgrounds, and nineteen different languages to cope with? (Barking - Gascoigne School - a recent documentary) There is no easy answer, that much is obvious, but how much longer can this country absorb, and fund, mass immigration? The genie is rapidly struggling out of the bottle, as has been seen in Epping recently.

It's fact . I know of 2 women who did this and a lot of men go to the Philippines and come back with a wife .
I had a close family male member who married a lady from the Philippines and after a month of marriage she disappeared. After quite a longish while he had divorce paperwork come through. She'd moved to a different part of the country so she wouldn't be found .
The clue is in the word illegal. They know what to say to try to stay here. Persecution, being gay, claiming to be children, etc. This barmy idea will be yet another excuse to stay in the country. They will suddenly discover a long lost uncle living here.
Who is going to carry out any checks? Border Control is not fit for purpose as it is. Starmer cares not one jot for those piling into the country by whatever means. He comes out occasionally to spout another ridiculous idea in the hopes of placating us but does nothing.
Starmer should have a chat with Greece. They have a 3 month ban on migrants during the summer months. Allowing boatloads of them in was seriously affecting their tourism to the detriment of their economy. Their Minister said he has a responsibility to the Greek people first and foremost. All migrants are being held in a secure camp and deported straight back. How I would love to hear Sir Keir follow suit and put the Brits first. I won't hold my breath.

19 different languages? 41 !!! in a local Primary School near me. How on earth can any teacher cope with that?
I understood that the rule/law has been changed so that so-called 'sham' marriages cannot be used to gain citizenship so easily.
That makes it difficult for those in a genuine marriage to someone from overseas.
if they are genuine refugees, why do they give £ thousands to these gangs to get bundled into a small dingy instead of coming in by legal means and why do they get into this country without a passport
