Glory hole - do you have one? Where is it? ~What's in it?

I always feel sorry for the AC of those who proudly talk of all the useless “stuff” they have in cupboards sheds attics etc as they (theAC) will have it to deal with when the parents shuffle off.

I have never come across any other meaning than a small closet where you keep all that 'stuff' you might find useful one day. Since when was it shanghaied to mean something other, I wonder?

When I first started my last job I was very unsure of myself and a few days in I was asked to give a talk to a group of about a dozen professionals I was really nervous but felt I did fairly well they all thanked me for an interesting talk I thanked them and turned opened the door and walked straight into the ‘gloryhole’ amid a lot of laughter
