Nespresso coffee machines or similar.

Hi there. I've recently returned from staying in a place that had a wonderful Nespresso machine. I'm not a huge coffee drinker but really fancy a small machine for myself. Can anyone recommend a good one, that's not too expensive please? Also are pods very expensive? Are they still non recyclable? I've done a little research on Google but there are so many machines out there and so many different types of pods! I trust Gransnetters to give impartial advice! smile

I have Nespresso too but I buy compatible cafe pods. DH uses a Tassimo but I find his choice of Costa Americano pods too weak for my taste.

Italian coffee made in a stainless steel French press far superior in taste and flavour to Nespresso's cheaper and more environmentally friendly.

Mine is a tiny Lavazza not expensive. I buy the pods in bulk on Amazon for best price.

We have this as well, we got it on offer 3 years ago and it cost about £50 max.It's brilliant.

Be careful of very cheap machines that will tie you in to a very expensive pod contract.
I’ve just bought one from Lakeland for my son it cost £80.00 and takes the cheaper supermarket pods.

I agree with BigBertha1 that coffee made in a French press tastes better as well as being cheaper and greener.

Just look on the coffee pod packets- they usually say if 5hey are Nespresso compatible. A lot of them have a better flavour than the expensive Nespresso ones. Try L’Or.
