If this is the one that plugs into your electrical socket, a lot of reviews say that there isn’t enough room between the socket and the skirting board and they are unusable.

Good point Oopsadaisy1 I think his flat is pretty modern therefore the sockets should be higher up? I'll have to find out!

I think you need at least 4 or 5 inches between socket and skirting boards, our gap is too narrow.

We bought a similar one recently but may have to send it back as the operating instructions specify you must use a plug at least a meter from furniture or curtains. This really only applies in our hallway or landing. It's is supposed to use approximately 8p per hour of electricity. It seemed like a good idea for a quick blast of heat when we don't want to put the central heating on.

If there’s not enough room, buy a small extension cable.

But you can’t lay the extension cable on the floor, as the heater must be away from flooring (carpet) not sure about wood, you would have to fix the extension on the wall somehow.

i would read some reviews first, there may be other problems.

might be better to buy him some good thermals.

The reviews on the site (that everyone loves to hate), had mixed reviews, some saying that they aren’t as effective as the adverts claim and some saying they are brilliant!
But I think they are for very small spaces.

A heated blanket might be better?

I have ordered one for a caravan. Arriving Friday. Will let you all know, good or bad. If bad I will return it. Watch this space.
