Dinosaurs

I was really into dinosaurs when I was young. Daughter was as a child, too, and so was Hubby. Thankfully in Canada we have at least two dinosaur museums, and we have visited both.

When I have taught pediatric nursing, I used to tell my students that if you're not sure what to say to build rapport with a child, ask about dinosaurs. Many children go through a dinosaur phase, so it's a pretty safe topic.

My granddaughter is fascinated with dinosaurs. I bought her a teeshirt with her name changed to a dinosaur name printed on it! E.g. Mary-au-sauras.

Apart from the Natural History Museum my only real brush with dinosaurs as a 1950s child was the dinosaur part of Fantasia, but I found it upsetting to see them all die of starvation, so didn't like it much. My six year old granddaughter watched it the other day and she took it all in her stride. She asked me their names but there are not many that I know!

My nearly 5 year old grandson is also obsessed with dinosaurs,knows all the names and has his bedroom decorated with them.
We used to play at being dinosaurs and he used to say to me you be Grandma dinosaur hence my user name!

My granddaughter requested a dinosaur themed party when she was three. My daughter made an amazing stegosaurus cake!
