Anyone use a hair mask or use a really good conditioner?

FannyCornforth I only use No. 4 & 5. Ordered online from Selfridges (maybe more reliable, as I can't imagine they have fake products!). I did notice they also have No. 0, but not sure about No. 2.

I like the mask from Moroccan Oil, it comes in a tub. I used it when my hair was longer and coloured, and it left my hair soft and shiny. You don't say how often you wash your hair; try to leave a few days between washes so you are not stripping the natural oils from your scalp.

Now that my hair is shorter and left grey I hardly need to condition.

Another mention for Garner ultimate. Have just got the aloe Vera one. In a large tub- can use as a mask, conditioner and leave in conditioner. I did all 3. Then added more yesterday as a leave in. Amazon selling for around £3.25 but £2.95 if you buy from Amazon fresh! I ordered on Tues lunchtime - it arrived 3 hours later. My hair was very dry- now soft again- I’m impressed! Ps have tried many products before - very expensive to cheap. This one has worked!! Not sticky, or weighty just soft conditioned hair.

Also half price (£3.95 I think) in Boots at the moment

Another vote for PK Elasticiser here, you don't need much and it really leaves the hair soft and moisturised, brilliant stuff! Just make sure to remember to use it pre shampoo.

I've been using Olaplex since January and I'm not a total convert. I have long single process blonde hair and although I have to admit the breakage is less, I haven't found it to be the miracle worker it's touted to be. I've used the whole lot from No 1, 2, 0, 3, 4 and 5, now going into the 8th month of use.

I've tried various products including Oribe and Kerastase as well as PK and I don't think you can go too far wrong with the Elasticiser.

Nansnet I’d been hankering after some Olaplex for a while (numbers 0 and 2, the only ones suitable for curly hair).
But like a fool, I bought them from Amazon, and I think that they may be fake, as they actually didn’t do much at all.
Have you any experience of numbers 0 and 2? Thank you

I'd recommend Olaplex products. They do a range of shampoos, conditioners, masks, oils, etc. You only need to use a small amount as they are so rich and creamy, and my hair smells and feels lovely afterwards. It's not cheap, but well worth it. I used to buy it from my hair salon until they had a problem with stockists (I live overseas), but I've just discovered that I can order it online myself and get it sent over!

I'm currently using an Aussie brand one, 3 miracle oil lightweight with coconut, macadamia and safflower. Use sparingly just on mid length to ends.

Garnier Ultimate Blends Super food. Just started using the Coconut one. There are some rave reviews for these but have only used it once so will see.

Perhaps it’s an alternative shampoo needed instead?
Look into co-washing; basically you don’t bother with proper shampoo, you wash instead with a sort of hybrid.
The (traditional) shampoo that I often use is Palmers cocoa butter one, it’s gorgeous and conditioning in itself.
Bit of background - up until 2 years ago I had extremely thinning hair. Now it’s back to normal standards I’m lavishing it with love! (The problem was my vitamin D levels)
It’s grown back curly too, which is an added bonus, but it does tend to dryness

I have given up on using a regular conditioner (that you rinse out) and now only use leave in conditioner or heat protection spray, then serum smoothed through after straightening. My hair looks and feels in better condition this way. I have thick wavy hair.

I have pixie short hair, used to colour it with Nice & Easy but always had lots of conditioner, as well as colour, left over. I stopped colouring my hair during Covid but over time have amassed enough conditioner to last for years. For some brands, you can buy these conditioners as separate items.

Been having problems finding a conditioner recently so this has been really helpful. Will try Herbal Essences first!

My hairdresser recommends any conditioner slathered on, then shower cap and keep it on for as long as you can.

I love the conditioner supplied with Preference hair colouring.

Yes, I use castor oil and black cohosh oil. In same bottle from S..........g and costs about 5.00. It's in the hair section
