Seeing as most of us will be spending a lot more time indoors, and hopefully chatting on Gransnet , is there anything you'd like to see more of? Would more conversation starters like those we did during Lurkers' Week give those who need it a distraction from talking about the virus? Could we host a 'skillshare' where gransnetters can post a video of themselves teaching a skill? Would you like to have a daily exercise video? Anything else you can think of or suggest we will happily take a look into and see what we can do? It's a pretty rubbish time for most of us so anything we can do together to make our daily lives easier or just a little nicer, please let us know.
Jokes! There were some really good jokes a while ago and I was going to read them out to DH but I couldn't find them. I browsed around 'forums' but failed to find them. Could there be a 'jokes' or 'humour' section on forums? A good laugh would be good for our mental health.
I think meditation and simple yoga would be good. I could make a fly tying video for all those suffering from corona induced insomnia. It would work a treat!?
A happier front page image, I was hoping that the new picture would be a more cheerful one than last week, but no, another sad and miserable face. Come on GNHQ, we need cheering up not more gloom and doom, vampirequeen has the right idea
This is the sort of thing I'm thinking about. I'm not very good at these sorts of puzzles but apparently if you look very carefully to the side of the adorable kittens you can see a handsome fireman.
I'm in the rubysong and Beechnut camp and would like a humour section. I like the idea of a variation of the "scenes we'd like to see" that appears at the end of Mock the Week, maybe a daily humourous 'scene' thread. Or perhaps a 'mike night' or even a satirical 'magazine' where posters can write short satires. Whatever the threads a comedic/humour forum would be good.
In one of the newspapers each week they publish a photo of some famous people and a balloon coming out of one of their mouths and the readers have to come up with a funny caption which is then judged by the Editor or one of his/her minions.
I like the ideas suggested so far,I have one of my own to add. As we are unable to visit the hairdresser or beautician for the foreseeable, what about some hair trimming advice, especially fringes and general beauty tips if we are unable to get our usual products? I have thought for a while that the Style and Beauty section should be updated quite regularly with new ideas for clothes etc, just as magazines do each month?
