Anyone bought a tiny washbasin recently?

If there is a water supply you would be better installing a wee sink/wash hand basin , you can get tiny ones that do the job

There are a couple of traditional cloakroom ones on Bathstore’s website but they are 510mm so may be too big.

Oops mis read that , yes you can get tiny ones , I think they are meant for playschool , or infant school toilets

We had your problem NotSpaghetti. I looked around for years to find something and eventually found what would be ok in B&Q. The one I have is in inches 16x8 1/2x5 deep. It’s a plain looking and has one tap. We didn’t have much room so mounted it on the windowsill. Not really an ideal place but it gave me my much longed for basin.

We have a tiny washbasin in our cloakroom. It is integral with a cupboard unit underneath., but it is very oblong and modern. DD has a more traditional tiny washbasin but she bought it over 10 years ago.

B and Q - Cooke and Lewis. 350 mm wide x 250 mm.

The Victoria Plumbing one we have already seen and if I remember correctly it's a little bit "bulbous". I think I should re-visit it though.
I did actually go to B&Q but maybe the small ones are online stock.

Have found a 350mm wide one that is only 230mm deep in the Cooke and Lewis range but it is quite contemporary.

Most small ones have a modern look I think...

Please be prepared for the fact that everyone will wash their hands all over the floor as well as in the wash basin. Happens in my second toilet anyway. Drives me mad. Better than the kitchen sink though!

I agree with Gonegirl there. I have an small oblong washbasin in the downstairs loo and the water splashes everywhere.

Have you thought of looking for a basin at a reclamation yard. They might have something not so modern.

I would recommend the largest basin you have space for. You have to be able to get your hands in. My DD has one of the oblong ones in her spare loo, and it's difficult to wash your hands or clean your teeth!

Reclamation yard is a good idea.

Friend bought a tiny caravan sink.

I bought a modern contemporary one recently only cost £30 on ebay, it was new. There are lots on ebay all different designs and styles. what I would say is don't go for one with really short taps or you won't get your hand in the basin. Try to go for something with taller taps leaving room for hands to be washed.

Thanks everyone for suggestions. I've sent some emails to reclamation yards and will take the pointers re size/shape on board.
Think I'll cut out some cardboard washbasins and see how big is possible instead of just marking the wall and measuring it.
Interesting about the rectangular basin too.
