I was thinking of complicated, cryptic answers too.

I didn't see at first how Misadventure had got to balcony. I thought maybe the "dress circle" somehow went to "balcony bra" to give the link. Overthinking it!

Initial letter clue was 'travellers cases'
I had luggage. Thanks to MissAdventure I now realise it should be baggage
So of course the answer is balcony. I had what is known in our family as a 'brain fart'

What is the clue for the word that gives you the first L?

I would have thought balcony, apart from the obvious, that your word starts with L.
