We live on an over 55s complex and have relatively new neighbours (3 months). The thing is, their bedroom is next to our lounge and I can hear everything when they are having sex. They go to bed much earlier than us. We live in a very small bungalow and there is no other room where I can't hear it.I find it embarrassing that I am privy to such personal sounds but don't know what to do about it. Turning the telly up doesn't really mask it!!
I think BBevans idea is by far the best. A very loud, round of applause complete with whistles and cheering every time they finish! They will soon get the message.
It could be all put on of course??
do people really need to make that kind of noise when they do it?
Many years ago our upstairs neighbours went through a phase of noisy sex. One session didn't last very long. My partner shouted "Is that it?" and we never heard them again
I love the thought of playing 'The Galloping Major' - that should stop anyone in their tracks. The William Tell overture is also very good music for dampening the ardour - no-one could possibly keep up with the rhythm - they'd burst into flames! Don't ask me how I know
I live in a Park home, noise isn't so much a problem if you're indoors with tv/radio on but if you're outside you can hear loud neighbours - fortunately mine are fairly quiet
I'm envious of your neighbours Zengran as I've been widowed for over 3 years but I do agree perhaps just turn tv up or when you see her I would be tempted to mention "thin walls", they may not realise how much you can hear
On holiday in Mallorca one December I had a single room. Obviously a double room with a thin plasterboard wall ! Chap next door brought a woman back for sex.... I could hear lots of sounds from him followed by snoring. I thought she didn't seem to get much from it !! I left a note on his door and the next night heard her read it out loud with much drunken giggling. I was always looking round the dining room trying to pick out who I thought it was.
I think I'd tell them. Either 1) they'll be mortified I certainly would or 2) they won't stop in which case you may ne able to get a noise abatement order only half joking.
Seriously though, if it were any other kind of loud, unwelcome noise it wouldn't be a laughing matter.
`We had neighbours both school teachers, who were into sub and Dom relationship he would whip her. We could overhear their sessions. Whilst I was at work my wife told the lady we could hear them and it sounded painful. She assured my wife it was a wonderful marriage they had and she suggested my wife join them.
Good for them! ?? I wish we were up to it 2 or 3 times a week these days! There are many sounds I don't like to hear, but sounds indicating love and happiness are not amongst them. I'm sorry, but I don't believe that turning up your TV isn't enough. If that were the case, they would have to be having 'swinging from the light fittings' sex and given their ages, I seriously doubt that's the case. Lighten-up for heaven sake!
I like the idea of clapping, as well! Sound slike (no pun intended) they are something of exhibitionists?! They surely must realise the thinness of the walls as they must hear noise from your side as well! (I mean the tele or radio, not anything untoward!
Yes play some suitably loud music at them through the wall then a loud fanfare of some sort, followed by a screaming baby. They might then get the message.
