I’m not convinced it’s Banksy. I don’t see why Roo had to go to USA? Maybe it’s just me.

He has done very well. I have a ‘thing’ against graffiti artists whether or not they are talented. They have ruined the city here with their horrible scrawls, not a pretty sight.

The Banky`s statue is our PM on late evening, early morning of the 7th & 8th May 2026.

One of my ds.i.l. sometimes refers to her little boy as ‘Roo’. I think it’s cute.

Yes, nice observations there.

I wonder what "They"will do with it. 🫶

Not only obscuring his vision with the flag but stepping off the plinth into thin air.

Whitewavemark2 Thu 30-Apr-26 23:38:06

Oh! And Roo is my little stray cat😀😀 as well as Kanga’s baby.

Banky’s statue - idiot wrapping himself in the national flag, but none so blind that they will not see.

That’s my take.

And the irony is that those about whom it portrays won’t have a clue it’s about them.

"James Peak, creator of the BBC podcast series The Banksy Story, said: "Here, you've got a brilliant comment on a bumptious, chest puffed out man in power with the flag completely obscuring his vision, which is why he is about to fall off the plinth"

Yes, that's my take.

But they quoted another bloke who said it was a "resurgence of nationalism".
Heck. anything but.

Top statue, given where it is.

Who or what is Roo?

What????

Kanga’s offspring. Winnie the Poo.

Allira Thu 30-Apr-26 23:16:37

Georgesgran

The New York Library has all the original Winnie the Pooh characters, except Roo (Kanga’s baby) keepingquiet so a ‘toy’ has been specially made here and KC and QC have taken it with them to complete the set.

X post

Thanks, Georgesgran.

Who or what is Roo?

A friend of Winnie the Pooh?
I don't get the significance.

Banksy claims responsibility for the resin statue but it is not at all his usual style and I have my doubts that he actually made it himself. The idea might be his.

Tried to do a link to the Banksy but couldn’t. Thanks for mentioning it though. As I’m currently avoiding the news I would have missed it and I love Banksy stuff.

Two news items amused me today, the Banksy sculpture appearing overnight in London, clever team, the subject is not amusing.
The video of Roo on his way to America with the King and Queen to be reunited with his friends.
I’m rubbish at links - sorry
