Simple teddy bear crochet pattern

I am trying to decide how much stuffing to get for the bears ... I have made the first one nearly. It's about 7 inches tall. I have to order online and it is sold by weight. I will be making several.
Any experienced toy stuffers out there!?

I used to order my stuffing by Phoenix (made to various British standards for toy stuffing) from Wool Warehouse - it comes in bags of IIRC 200g and 400g bags. If you’re only going to be making a couple of mini Teds, the smaller bag should be plenty.

I now use so much for my big items (latest is another Heffalump) I’ve started ordering in bulk from a co. called Brimlake - a vast, tightly packed bag which should last a year or two. TBH the stuffing was beginning to be easily the most expensive outlay for my knitted items. The bulk buy works out a lot cheaper, but still conforming to British standards.

Make sure you pack it down and that there is sufficient in the neck area or else his head will be floppy.

Around 3 ounces or 85 grams should be enough for a 7 inch bear.

I knitted a few years ago, some had clothes, one a football kit but can't find the pattern.

I used to make very easy small ones, knitted in one piece, but which turned out very well, from a Knit for Peace pattern. The one problem I had was how to embroider eyes and nose, starting and finishing securely (unpickable!) without the dark stitches showing.

Answer, start and finish at the neck and add a scarf, around 60 sts, 3 rows SS, tie around neck and sew securely to neck, so it could not be pulled off.
The little Teds looked very smart with a colourful scarf added.
