Drying branches

My most recent purchase of glycerine came from a chemist's shop.
I'm another who did Christmas table decorations, using Daz or Omo as a base.

Do you know if Boots sell glycerine ?
My mother , who was a fantastic flower arranger used to stand branches in boxes of Omo or Daz !
I don't remember her drying out the Bottlebrush tree .
She planted it about 30 plus years ago .
She used to get upset if I pruned anything in the garden .
Now it's wind damaged on one side and growing into a conifer on the other .
A little late to prune it , but I have .

Years ago I was told to use hot water and glycerine in equal parts. Stand branches in a glass container and let them take up the mixture until the colour changes. The leaves should become leathery.
