Tegan what about using the wrapping paper on top of the bedside cabinets under a glass top cut to size with a nice bevelled edge (or a side table or something)? I'm always surprised that glass cutting isn't much more expensive. It's a lovely design.

candelle I think I would too if it was free of charge. Now the show is on the second series, I would be aware of how important my brief to the designer is though.

I love Jamie's kitchen.

Me too and I preferred Lily's to Sarah's. He's learning fast, mind you he did have the advantage of the new sofa. I liked his Swedish room too, although I get why the homeowner thought it was more modern than traditional.

I liked Lily and Sarah's equally, but Jamie' was delightful.

Funny I haven't noticed that, but last week the woman with the drawn out voice got on my nerves. I will watch and listen tomorrow.

I wouldn't let the female presenter near my house. Those kitchens were not small. Not large, but not small.

Was anyone surprised that Rachel was knocked out yesterday?

She won the presentation/mood board prize, her home owners absolutely loved the end result (as did I) and I was really amazed when she failed, not only to win, but was sent home.

Although tonight Jamie was much improved, I thought that his effort yesterday was much poorer than Sarah's and thus the wrong person was removed (I suppose I should add IMHO!).

I usually guess the correct result and was really shocked when Rachel had to say bye!

Yes, I thought Sarah or even Jamie would be sent home. Didn't expect it to be Rachel, but then at the start of tonight's episode we saw the female presenter saying something about it/her getting up her nose to do with Rachel. I must have missed that bit yesterday because I don't remember what it was about.

I actually liked Lucy's kitchen ( so predictably, she was the one sent home!?)

I used to live in one of those Warners houses.

What a great episode tonight. Very good at not letting us see much of the rooms until the end. Neither were my style, although I loved the wardrobes in Sarah's room and the lighting in Jamie's room. Too hard to call for me and I realised after Sarah got through that I was championing Jamie.

Sadly not Wilma there were so many of them built ( must have been over a thousand, probably more.)Nice solid houses though.

I love the round arch over the porch of both houses. I have seen that in London when I used to visit my brother and lots of the houses had hanging baskets at the time. It was so pretty and made the whole street look like something from an Agatha Christie novel!

I'm gutted that Jamie hasn't gone through. If they couldn't choose easily they should have put them both through.

5 bricks!! I'd like to see what those two presenters would produce given 5 bricks! I do like the little Japanese/Chinese touches the older contestant keeps adding this week. It's given me a few ideas for decorating my lady bedroom, the one the dog and I go off to when the DP's snoring gets too much which is most nights.

I think they made the right choice tonight, Craig's room was a real old mish- mash.

Lindylou - I agree, the bricks were ridiculous and unnecessary. Bournville itself was beautifully showcased, I wonder whether all the house prices have gone up!!

I do enjoy the programme, but am constantly surprised at the owners who seem content to be hands off. I couldn't possibly leave someone to it, and be pursued on colours I would end up having to live with. If I employed a designer I would have to know in minute detail exactly what the room was going to end up like.

We're having curtains made at the moment and the lady who's making them is horrified at the standard of work when it comes to curtains, cushions etc in the programme. It seems to be far more amateurish than previous series. Last nights was interesting as I'm in the process of working out what to do with a similar living room. Thus far it's grey with grey...... Have almost finished the dining room and bedrooms though...

...oh, and I've just discovered Frog Tape which is very expensive for masking tape but worth every penny. When I've finished I plan to do some sort of 'homage to frog tape' in some way. Wilma; yes, I do that with table tops and wrapping paper, the good thing being that you can change the effect by changing the paper. I'm also using a lot of that sticky backed stuff that you can buy to line cupboards, except that I cut cardboard to size and put it onto that...putting it straight onto the furniture seems a bit dicey. The bookcase was another bargain find from a charity shop; I still can't believe that they were just putting it on display as we walked into the shop....I grabbed hold of it and wouldn't let go till the S.O. had safely paid for it! £30 and worth every penny. I was about to paint the whole lot till I realised I only had to Annie Sloane the edges. But I'm still having nightmares about the Peacock chair for the summer house that I didn't buy as I thought it was too big [it wasn't....]

I was sad to see Frankie go tonight or but the mural was the end for him. How he must have felt when he realised the light fixture was off centre. A bad time to have a problem like that.

Lucy is still as irritating as ever, so I want Sarah to win - I'm not that keen on her either tbh. The orange room was hideous. I really wanted Frankie to win.

Anne was an interesting contestant. Some eagle eyed person recognised her from an episode of Grand Designs in 2000, so I tracked it down and watched it. She's married to a policeman and they have children. They bought an electricity substation in Sunderland and converted it into their home. It was sort of Moroccan themed and the finished house was lovely. Anne was just the same, not particularly interested in the hard graft (her husband is a real workhorse), she was really only interested in the decoration, especially the soft furnishings. I thought Anne and her husband made an unlikely couple tbh! You can watch it online at the All4 website. I think it was Grand Designs Revisited Series 3. She's written quite a few children's books too.

I also wanted Frankie to win. I was surprised, because he was so thorough, that he had not measured the position of the light when he did his plans.

Lucy's voice must drive her students mad!

I expect she will win, she has some good ideas, but those stuffed toys! The first things I'd remove.

I'm quite keen to visit Wells , I've not been there for 40 years - I wonder if it's changed!

The plus side of the series is seeing all those beautiful unusual properties.But I keep seeing rooms [eg the orange room last night] where there are beautiful, expensive comfortable sofas that are replaced with horribly junk shop finds. The orange room was awful; like an explosion in a curry factory! And the wall hanging with the stuffed animal heads was bizarre to say the least . The only people in the series that I'd trust my home with would be Frankie or that other lad who went out last week.
