I have a colouring book too but haven't had the time to use it yet. Perhaps I'd better try it out.
Yes I am quite into it. I got Millie Marotta's 'Animal Kingdom' for my birthday. Much better quality than most of those on the market that I have seen. I have now purchased a range of fine nib coloured gel pens including glitter ones (oh joy). I haven't an artistic bone in my body but enjoy experimenting with colours and I find it nearly as relaxing as ironing 
My daughter gave me one a couple of weeks ago. Yes I do find it relaxing, but a bit pointless, but I suppose the relaxing bit IS the point
Have you tried these adult colouring books that are so popular these days? I received a couple, together with nice pens and pencils, for my recent birthday. Amazingly, it's wonderful and very relaxing. I get really caught up in trying to keep inside the lines, and use nice colours.
I happened to mention to a neighbour that I now do adult colouring and he said it sounds pornographic! Well, maybe there are porno ones in the shops, but mine are just flowers and scenery etc.
