I haven’t contributed for years, ever since I saw the comment ‘millionaires encouraging the UK poor to send their wages abroad’

They used to be very entertaining at one time, but there seem to be too many Z list celebrities with appalling scripts. To be honest I have whittled down my charity donations to two or three that I think are doing good.

I was agreeing with the OP up to the point that one of their bugbears was the fact that they were helping furriners.

Don’t have much spare money so don’t donate to them but do make a monthly donation to a couple of charities close to my heart.

I used to watch but most of the time, I find the shows tedious so no longer feel the need.

Never watch and never donate.
My money goes to local charities where I know it will be put to good use.

I've ignored them for years. I am very, very particular where I donate my money. So many charities are dubious I think.

It’s a sad state of affairs that in 21st century U.K. these programmes are still needed.

Hats off to all who raise money in inventive and often physically challenging ways, to those who donate their hard earned cash.

Nope I don’t bother with it anymore.
Some crass comments made about white saviours, so I never donated since.

We turned off after five minutes on Friday as it was utter rubbish!

I do think they have passed their sell by date and don’t watch any but as they raise millions of ponds who am I to say they should be stopped?

I usually watch it - but, I seem to have missed it this year. Was it on Friday ?

I happen to know that, behind the scenes, weeks and weeks of very hard work and very long hours go into making these telethons. Just saying.

All credit to the celebs who make a fool of themselves or take on really hard personal challenges to raise money for them, though.
Not my cup of tea generally, but no-one makes you watch or contribute.

Everybody has the option not to contribute.

Children in Need Funds are distributed solely in the UK.

I avoid these like the plague. I’m not sure there is enough information on how well the money is used.
