SPARKS card a waste of time

I spent a lot in M&S but haven’t had any rewards for months. Obviously they don’t care that much about loyalty

I like the Sparks app and have saved a lot, mainly on clothes and underwear. I usually order online, collect from the local M&S food and find it incredibly easy to return things. I think they have really upped their game this year. I do have a Boots card but don’t really know anyone who goes to Boots nowadays

I spend quite a bit in M&S. Shop there most weeks & also order online. I’ve had a sparks card & app since the beginning but I’ve not had any offers for months. I’m beginning to think that the less you shop there the more likely you are to get the offers. They don’t need to catch the captives!

I get rewards on my app, normally 20%off I just add them, also the odd bag of Percy Pigs, or packet of biscuits But today I found a £5 e- voucher on a Sparks M&S email, valid for several months.
Never had that before.

I’ve saved. a bit with different 20 per cents off clothing. The best loyalty card in my opinion is Boots, the others I’m getting rid off as not worth the effort.

Happy girl just get a new card!

PS if you have the app on your phone you no longer need a physical card, just scan the barcode on the app.

My understanding is that you’ll need to first notice that you’ve received offers and then accept them onto your card prior to any purchases. This thread made me check my card on the app this morning and I’ve discovered 15% off clothing and beauty products. Also 50p and 75p off some food items. If I don’t accept these onto my card they won’t be active if I make a purchase eg in clothing or beauty.

The App is very easy to use . Any offers are visible and if you want them you just press the + sign next to it. It will tell you how many days they are valid. Usually 7.

I have had an app for years. I spoke to customer service and apparently 100 thousand are not getting the reward service

My card never works in the store. Despite telling them nothing changes

I have an M&S Card, but hardly use it, because I hardly go there now - I don’t drive far these days. I get more out of Tesco Clubcard

I have never had any Sparks card offers! Just checked again now and nope - nothing.

DamaskRose

Am I supposed to present the Sparks card at the till, I have never been asked for it.

Yes, that is how your offers are activated if you have any.

I buy some M&S through Ocado.
No benefits to that! grin

Tesco Clubcard and Boots are SO much better.

Goldieoldie15 Fri 07-Jun-24 07:09:50

Waste of time. Definitely. I was once offered a pack licorice sweets. A joke! Bots card is excellent. I bought one of those super fancy hairdryers with the card alone. Now that’s what I call a loyalty card.

yes a waste of time.

M&S closed their branch in my town so I rarely shop there now. I recently went to a nearby town and bought some jeans from M&S but as the cashier rang the transaction through while I still hadn't got my card out so I missed out! I wouldn't know how to access my account as I haven't seen any emails from them in a while.

If you get the offer for the free white loaf that PP mentioned,, it is not just for a white loaf although it illustrates one. If you click on what that offer includes you will see it includes many kinds of loaves. I can use it to get a free gluten free loaf which normally costs £3. So very much appreciated!
Sparks card offers are not so good as they used to be though.

I've only got a Sparks card because, after my staff discount card was stolen, it was the only way to get my staff discount. I've not noticed any other benefit.

JennyCee Thu 06-Jun-24 20:52:07

I wont buy in Tesco anymore, since i heard their Chief exec
(Boss I assume) had just received his salary? 0f £10 Million!!
That included bonus. Why does anyone need £10 Million per annum?
Bye bye Tesco

Apologies I have replied to the wrong person. Please excuse my ignorance

Please take time to read exactly what I said instead of posting self righteous comments

I had 20% off women’s trousers and 20% off women’s underwear in recent weeks. I have the Sparks app on my phone and scan it each time I shop there( which isn’t very often) They alert me by email when new offers are available and I go to the app and accept them there. I haven’t had a freebie for a while. Last one was a bag of cookies from the bakery section about 3 months ago.

I seldom make purchases in M&S. I wonder if those of us who are less frequent customers are the ones receiving more offers to entice us in 🤔

HomeAgain123 Thu 06-Jun-24 16:27:50

I do log on as it’s on my phone so easy and yep only food and occasionally undies
