Am I too old by taking a year out aged 75 to travel and visit family and sightseeing all within financial constraints

Not so much to do with age as wanting to be an intrepid explorer. You sound as though you are more than up for it so yes you must do it. Life is too short to live with regrets. Enjoy !

I suffee heart disease, type 2 diabetes and hypothyroidism, I got insurance to travel to Australia, of course it depends if you are currently having or have recently had treatment but don't let anything stop you if you are in good health.

I am a lot older than you and currently on holiday in Australia!!! During my stay here I have flown from Western Australia to the East Coast, and back again, and had a trip to Bali, wonderful Country, will definitely go back. I am going home to the UK next week, have a cruise booked to the Med in September, a tour of Portugal early next year, before returning down under for a couple of months!!! Go for it whilst you can, I am lucky to enjoy perfect health but am very aware that, at my advanced age, that can change at any time, so making the most of it xxxx good luck and happy travels xxx

I'd say No. Do wonder how much your insurance will cost as you go travelling for a year though. My 9 day trip to a hotel in Europe even though no health issues was expensive enough.

Wish I had not. I have got progressively more and more ill until I am housebound for over 20 years.

No. Go for it if you can get reasonable priced insurance. It sometimes restricts 75 Yr old to 35 days.

Don't hold back, go and enjoy! Just dont forget to get good travel insurance so you are covered for any unexpected hiccups.

I was very encouraged to to read your post nanafunny. I too, 74 and in good health, would love to travel and see more of the world. As my husband , now divorced, used to do all the planning I’m wondering where to start. Also being alone makes me apprehensive .

Like they say you only as old has you feel. my dad used to say you only get one roll of the dice of life you don’t get a second chance enjoy it while you can. Don’t live with regrets on not doing something you want to do that you know you can

Friday we’re taking delivery of our motorhome. Then first (small) trip is to 🇮🇹 Italy. So looking forward to it - we’ve already done the Cancer Support France fundraiser 😉.

I think you have to be confident about it even though you have butterflies with excitement . Just make sure you have adequate insurance cover so check the small print
