Front door colours

vegansrock what would happen if say one of the doors got painted in a slightly different shade of the same colour though 😸

Farm yard doors !!

Our front door was battleship grey , I wanted to repaint it white , all the doors in the yard at the back of the house ( we lived in the farmhouse but it fronted the Main Street ) were the same colour
In laws had a fit of the vapours , a new mahogany door was bought ( it’s still there ) so I couldn’t paint it !
The farm yard I painted with that red paint all farm machinery is done with , I loved it , so cheerful 😀
My front door now that Ive moved is pale green 😏

And for the late Queen's visit they took down the 'Gentlemen' sign at the railway station in case she would be shocked.

Rude? I think it's rather a compliment!

Copycat is the greatest form of compliment.

When my neighbour knew we were getting a new front door she was worried we were going to get a dark grey one but I had chosen a light blue one as I don’t follow fashion

I've always believed that green front doors,green cars and green curtains are all fairly unlucky.

I don't know when or how I started thinking this way.

Mines a worn out dark bright blue that badly needs painting if anyones offering ? I ve bought the paint a really nice grey with a bluey tinge

One of the signs that someone had bought their council house was a different colour or even a totally different front door.

When my parents lived on a Council estate the front doors had to be painted in only four colours and in the same ABCD colours in order down the street. Painting in a personal colour was forbidden. The same Council painted only the outside of the railings and house fronts for a visit by the Queen.

My mums little bungalow was very pale yellow.

Now when I go past, guess what colour it is?

My front door was white when I moved in 18 years ago. It was not long before I painted it a bright yellow. I regularly repaint it yellow. Its so cheerful, yet so few front doors are yellow.

I'm sure front doors were all sorts of colours in the "olden days".

Whatever dad had left over in the shed, I reckon.

We threatened to paint the exterior walls here a similar colour if the council didn't paint them after 20 odd years of waiting.

What colour are your window frames.. and any other woodwork?

It wouldn’t bother me, paint the front door in whichever colour you choose, personally green is not a colour I like, so I’d go for black, all the homes down our road have a variety of colours,

I’ve no idea what colour anybody’s door is in my road! Why would it matter?
