Slang words which make me cringe ?

Not many slang words bother me but a lot of my friends call me hun, hunni, hon, honey etc via text which really makes me cringe ? Not keen on word hubby now I come to think of it……

Bit of a follow on from this post. I don't imagine I'm alone in being irritated by the way our language is changing. I know language does evolve over time, but .... It seems we now don't just live our lives, we 'navigate our way through life'. Thing dont increase, they 'uptick'. That one is my pet hate. Anyone who participates in anything are now 'actors'. I could go on. Is it all intended to make those in the media or big business sound much cleverer than the rest of us?

A friend of mine told me she’d been ‘vaxxed twice’. I thought she’d had her carpets cleaned!

Not slang but it seems everyone has to have to have been on a ‘journey’ these days.

I detest the expression telly - it is a television.
Have no objection to the word jab, it isn't an abbreviation.
My bone of contention is obvious - why does everything have to be abbreviated.

I don't like the expression "yours" as in "I'll come round to yours later". Why don't they say your house.

I say lots of these things.

I dislike "fess up" rather than "confess". The former isn't even any quicker to say!

I hate the word woke and when someone says my bad.

Getting an "invite" is one I hate. I also hate the "my bad" saying that people use. I suppose language evolves through popular usage but I don't have to like it!

Can't get used to "my bad" but we have used adjectives as nouns in lots of places for years. The long and short of it /Bitter with the sweet/ the poor/ the brave.....
"My bad" is maybe just too American for me!

I hate ASAP spoken as a word. Really grates!
