Watch what you want but..............

We tend to watch TV together in the evening and can usually find common ground. I am working from home at the moment and he is furloughed, so we watch the stuff we like separately when the other is working / busy. We have never watched so much TV though, thank God for Netflix as we have binge watched every single episode of Spooks!

This is why I go to bed so late. While DH is watching war films, police chases, sport etc. I am on this tablet reading all the GN posts and Facebook while the things I want to watch are recording. DH goes to bed quite early so I have a couple of hours to watch what I want, sewing bee, gardening etc. I also do wordsearches, sudoku and jigsaws. We both watch Midsomer Murders and quite a few other things we both like so there are no real problems.

I really do not understand how in these times there can be arguments in regard to what to watch on television.

Anyone now can watch tv not only on the large screen televisions but also on their phone, tablet laptop or PC. If you watch on your phone, tablet or laptop you do not even have to move to a different room. All you need is a pair of light earphones or earbuds and there you are. Him watching the sport while the good lady watches the sowing bee or whatever else she wishes.

With the fine weather of late, we have been watching a lot of television on our phones in the garden, each to their own program.

This thread seems to be a debate about a matter that can be very easily avoided in these times, and is by many millions each day in Britain.

Although we like pretty much the same TV programmes, OH multitasks, she can listen to an audiobook with an ear bud, browse on a laptop, watch TV and eat supper at the same time. We do go to bed at the same time though.

When my husband says 'there's nothing on the tele', I do say 'you can always switch it off'. However, very often the next day I find out that there was something on that I would have wanted to watch. He conveniently forgets to tell me this at the time! Men and the remotes!

We've only got one tv (never wanted one in the bedroom), and my husband watches all the programmes he likes - I don't share his taste in things - whilst I either look at things on YouTube or listen to music.
