Out of stock goods left on web sites for purchase. grr

We had this problem with Argos last year. Vowed never to use them again and we haven't. Their loss.

I am still waiting for John Lewis to email me back telling me that the monitor I enquired about is in stock - I enquired 12 months ago.

In the meantime I went into the local JL and bought the very same one.

I've got a feeling they remove popular stuff from their websites during special offers such as 3 for 2 toy sales etc. Then weirdly they're back in stock as soon as the offer is finished . hmm

Funnily enough I was sounding off about this to DD earlier in the week. I suspect it is for items they intend to restock, but it is infuriating.

Argos seems to be one of the worst sites for this. Also they often have goods available to collect but not for delivery.

I wanted to order a lap top for a Xmas gift and I have tediously checked the Argos site every day for over a week hoping for stock arrivals, yes I know glutton for punishment but it was a good price..

Why don't companies remove from their sites items that have sold out/cannot be purchased. Should be a law against it.grin Grrrr.
