A few years ago a friend and I went on holiday to Portugal. We were shown to our room and there was a double bed. I said that was unacceptable, we walked out and returned to reception where I had a right go. All they could offer was the double bed and and a camper which we had to accept with the proviso that we would move out into a room with 2 single beds the following day. The first folding bed was so ancient I refused it to be set up. The fellow came back with an almost new bed so that was okay for the night.
We discovered, speaking with others on holiday that one couple wanting a double bed were given 2 singles. The hotel staff thought that we would accept anything, sorry, no.
How should a family manage an estranged relationship?
Good Morning Sunday 28th June 2026
Told them we wouldn't be travelling with them and we are now looking for somewhere else to go. Naming no names but this was with the oldest travel operator in UK.
