Do you find the vilification of Margaret Thatcher in some area in bad taste ? Despite what we might think of her she still was someones mother , wife etc..
My niece put a comment on Facebook about burning in hell and I could not let her say that without putting in my views . It really upset me that people could be so cruel to someone not long dead.

Good rant Messenger - there is the faint call of MT saying 'here, here'.

messenger Thu 25-Apr-13 22:41:27

What a load of crap being bandied around about MT she was a good PM we need more male MPs with the jonejones she had and as an ex-shop steward myself she was what was needed at the time.Look at to-days news with the union dynosaur leading the largest union shouting about the union `bankrolling`the present Labour leader Ed Miliband the union leader forgot to tell everyone that it is the rank and file members whose money he so blatantly misuses and it is HE that will end up in the` dustbin` of history.angry

I suppose some spin doctor put out the 10 million cost of the funeral so that we'd all go, 'hey, it only cost 3.5 million; what a bargain'..[goes away pondering how I can reduce the cost of my funeral to 3.5 million]

Mussolini got the trains running on time but he still ended up shot full of holes and dangling upside from a lamp post, but that's Italians for you ungrateful lot!!! Don't suppose Berlousconi worries his oily head about trains running on time, but does he gets things done! just not the right things!

Ana Thu 25-Apr-13 22:03:10

grin And why not?

j08 Thu 25-Apr-13 21:53:57

6p each. Worth it.

I enjoyed it. smile

Funeral only cost £3.5 million not the £10 million the media was forecasting. So that's all right then. And there are people on this forum who complain all the time (mistakenly) about the cost of the Royal Family!

Greatnan Thu 25-Apr-13 20:47:33

Hitler got things done - he even made the trains run on time (allegedly). It is easy when you don't allow any alternative views.

MiceElf Thu 25-Apr-13 19:43:54

I have no idea what you last comment means. Kindly explain.

Do you seriously believe that it is morally right to ignore the terms of a treaty which your government signed, just because you don't like one decision?

celebgran Thu 25-Apr-13 19:33:52

She got things done mice elf very few do talk is cheap!

MiceElf Thu 25-Apr-13 19:01:19

You may well be right Celeb. MT had form for riding roughshod over the rule of law and a contempt for human rights.

celebgran Thu 25-Apr-13 18:19:52

Just what I Said to oh last night! Bet he would be deported by now if she was pm rip

gillybob Thu 25-Apr-13 13:33:42

This has just arrived in my inbox:

Margaret Thatcher arrived at the gates of heaven.
St. Peter apologetically said; "Sorry we are not quite ready for you yet.
We are sending you back to your old job for a few days."
In a puff of smoke she was back in Westminster.
Ten minutes later, Abu Qatada was on a plane to Jordan.

Many a true word Grannyeggs!.....perhaps all the recent comments good and bad will serve as incentives to boost this country out of the current state of indecisiveness...with a bit of courage all is not lost.. A Thatcherism perhaps...but then she had a point!,

Does anyone get used to stuff like that?

j08 Sat 13-Apr-13 18:15:23

It would hit you more when your mum had just died.

absent Sat 13-Apr-13 17:49:37

I expect she grew used to it in the 1980s and 90s.
